The answer is "four".
One pixie is hovering on the right side of the pink bush, which is at the center of the scene.
One pixie is sitting on the tree branch, on the left side of the tree to the right.
One pixie is moving around and watering the flower bed.
And, the last pixie is randomly teleporting around...

Speak with the chipper pixie
There you are! Here, I will lend you this tube.
A spyglass, I believe you mortals call it, and it makes small things look big. We're going to use it for our game.
The rules are simple: stand over there, look through the spyglass, and count the pixies. If you get our number right, I'll give you a fabulous prize!
Inspect the designated location to look through the spyglass and begin counting pixies.
You will have thirty seconds to complete the task, after which you may give your answer to the chipper pixie.
