This rise takes its name from Anshelm Cotter, the man who conquered all the lands of Gyr Abania. It was from here, atop the tor, that the first king of Ala Mhigo gazed out across the shining loch, and chose the site for his kingdom's capital.

Cotter Tor is a landmark in Abalathia's Skull, The Lochs. It is a rise that features the Third Royal Casern at its peak. It is named after Anshelm Cotter, the first king of Ala Mhigo, who is believed to have used the site to select the location for Gyr Abania's capital.
