Lore

"Oh, what I wouldn't give to chase the wind and touch the sky... TO BE AN AMARO!!!"

The resident veterinarian and overseer of the Facet of Nourishing. Whilst he is an avid member of the shoebill appreciation society, Bethric spends the majority of his time at Temenos Rookery tending to the amaro, and most would be surprised to learn that this jolly Galdjent of thirty-six summers was once a hardened sellsword. His road to becoming a veterinarian was a grim one. An amaro leapt to Bethric's defense as he fled a sin eater, sustaining serious wounds in the process. In attempting to treat his savior, he accidentally took its life by giving it medicine not intended for animals. This episode still scars Bethric, and he is yet unable to administer medicine with his own hands.

Dialogue

Initial

Bethric

Oh, how I envy the amaro. In all of creation, no animal is so pure, so perfect... There is much we can learn from them.

After completing Healing Old Wounds

Bethric

Ah, Forename. Checking up on me, are you?

Hahaha, have no fear. I will master the mixing of medicines yet!

After completing For Every Child a Star

Bethric

I cannot deny my consternation when first seeing the night sky, but I must confess it is quite beautiful. Though perhaps not quite as beautiful as the stars in Skip's eyes...

After progressing a Splendorous Tool

Bethric

Forename! I've heard your collaborative tools with Chora-Zoi met with great success, and now all of Norvrandt shall soon bask in their splendor.

Though my focus lies in medicine, I am still a proud member of the Mean, and prouder still to have served a small part in your project.

Why, just think of the possibilities! With such adaptive tools, we could create all manner of new medicines, and delight in healthier lives with our precious amaro! Yes, there is much to look forward to indeed.
