Strategy

Due to the longer mission timer, it is more GP-efficient to go for Gatherer's Boons. (It not necessary to attempt both, but both options will be outlined below.)

Gatherer's Boon is an effect which has a chance of happening when gathering. The higher your Perception rating, the better chance you have of triggering this effect.
Additionally, two actions increase the odds of triggering Gatherer's Boon. These effects last for until the node is exhausted, and can stack with each other:

The Chain count is based on consecutive successful gathering attempts from a single node. Getting the largest number of attempts on a single node is key.
Chain values of 3 or more give significantly more points, but these require specific actions to gain additional gathering attempts on a node.

  • Starting GP of 900 is recommended; 600 GP is the next best option.
  • Turn off automatic gathering. This way you will be able to use actions between gathering attempts.
  • Use   Solid Reason (miner) or   Ageless Words (botanist) to gain extra gathering attempts for 300 GP per use. This may also proc  /  Wise to the World, which also grants an additional attempt but with no GP cost.
You can only use these abilities when the number of gathering attempts remaining for the node is less than the starting value (usually 4) and greater than 0.

Strategy

Stellar Reduction is an ability that is used on gathered Collectable items. (It is an alternate version of   Aetherial Reduction that is available during missions.)

  • Maximizing collectability significantly increases the number of reduced items you receive from reduction.
  • Moving while completing an automatic reduction will cancel the next reduction. Manually initiating reduction from the menu is not interrupted by movement, so you can do this while moving between nodes.
  • Stellar Reduction cannot be executed while mounted.
  • If you have Aetherial Reduction to a hotbar (from Actions & Traits > General), it will change to Stellar Reduction during a mission. (This may be an easier way for you to begin Stellar Reduction.)
