Ridill is a server in the Japanese Gaia Data Center. It was an extremely rare sword that dropped from an infamous notorious monster in Final Fantasy XI, a fact obliquely referenced in the description of 
Wind-up Fafnir. Fafnir would go on to make an appearance in Echoes of Vana'diel.
In real life, Ridill is a weapon that appears in Norse Mythology, possessed by the dwarf Regin.
