“"Can you imagine if there truly was some emergency, and we were forced to live on panaloaf alone?"
Though her mother dwelt in a traditional Viera village before taking up with the gleaners, twenty-one-year-old Debroye's only memories are of Sharlayan and its largely uninspired cuisine. When she first partook of a meal at the Last Stand, however, her culinary passion was awakened, and she set her sights on the Studium's Faculty of Medicine. As a student of the nutritional sciences, she hoped to learn recipes collected from across the star, and was thus rather disappointed to be assigned to Professor Galveroche, whose disregard for the of cuisine led to tasteless loaf flavorsome aspects upon tasteless loaf. Unwilling to let unpalatable starches become the entirety of the Sharlayan diet, she countered the professor's design with her own creation—the nutritious and delicious Mervynbread.
