To make a name for oneself here in the Hanamachi, mere skill at song and dance will not suffice. No, one must possess a unique quality─something to catch the eye of the audience, to stand above and distinguish oneself from the shrubs and the weeds.

Lore

"A new wind blows in Kugane, and bold youth and individuality will win the day!"

An ambitious Raen girl of twenty-three years, Kotocho is a geiko—a Hingan dancing girl—determined to make a name for herself in Sanjo Hanamachi, Kugane’s famed pleasure district. Second only to her mentor and rival Kototsuru in repute, she sets her sights higher still, asking her patron Master Keimei to commission new fashions from a master weaver of Eorzea. Yet her path would not be an easy one, as many trials were yet to come.
