The boss is an immobile enemy at the center of the arena. This encounter focuses on the untargetable Vassal Vessel adds that serve as the epicenters for various AoEs based on the "commands" they receive, which will be indicated by circle or plus symbols traveling to them along the "wires" connecting them and the boss.
- Summon: Spawns eight adds, one on each cardinal and intercardinal near the edge of the arena. Each add and the boss will be joined with a blue wire.
- Assail: The boss will transmit a circle symbol to one add. When it reaches it, the add will emit a large, late telegraphed point-blank AoE (Stone Swell). Afterwards, two more circles (one from the boss and one from the previous add) will be transmitted to two different adds for a similar effect, finally followed by two more circles.
- Assail (version 2): Similar to before, but plus symbols will be transmitted, denoting late telegraphed plus-shaped AoEs (Rockslide) that are always oriented true north.
- Aetheric Burst: Party-wide magical damage.
- The adds will then become targetable and mobile and should be defeated.
- Summon + Assail (version 3): Spawns six more adds in a hexagon. The boss will sequentially transmit a circle AoE command to each one in a clockwise or counterclockwise pattern.
- Destruct: The boss will sequentially command two adds at a time to self-destruct as indicated by a red exclamation command. If the exclamation mark reaches an add, it will explode for high party-wide magical damage. The adds must be defeated to prevent this attack, with players focusing on adds that will blow up first.
- Summon + Assail (version 4): Summons eight more adds in the same pattern as in the beginning of the encounter. The boss and adds will then send several commands, beginning a chaotic sequence of identifying the adds they are traveling to and dodging the resulting AoEs. The AoEs will always alternate between circle and plus. The first two sets will be single AoE commands, while the remaining will be double commands. There will be 10 sets of commands in total. This version of Assail will repeat until the end of the encounter.
- Melee uptime is possible for nearly every AoE pattern. The only exception is if there are two circle AoEs directly (180 degrees) opposite each other.
