“"Create? You can create naught with the edge of a blade! Nay, what you seek to do is destroy!"
A Hingan woman of twenty-five summers raised as the sheltered daughter of the noble Tachikake clan, she was forced against her will to learn the way of the sword by Ugetsu, her once-kind brother who returned from his journey of training a cruel and violent man. Despite her misgivings, she shared Ugetsu’s natural affinity for swordsmanship and soon became a capable warrior in her own right. Soon after this, her brother committed an unspeakable crime, cutting down high-ranking officers of the bakufu. As punishment, her parents were summarily executed, and her family line stricken from the public record. It was then that she abandoned her true name of Kagetsu, dubbed herself “Makoto,” and came knocking on the door of the Sekiseigumi, in hopes of exacting revenge on her traitorous sibling. She enjoys relaxing by partaking in the traditional Hingan tea ceremony.
