East End

East End

A forested area on the Gyr Abania side of the border, East End is a continuation of the Black Shroud, and thus shares much of the latter's species of vegetation. Once a part of Gridania, trappers and botanists alike would often wander beneath its boughs. The place is better known to historians, however, as the bloody stage for the Autumn War.

— In-game description

East End is an area in The Fringes.

Landmarks

Landmark (map icon).png
Bittermill

Formerly a Gridanian hamlet, Bittermill was so named for the resident apothecaries who would pluck the local herbs and grind them into powder for use in various potions and poultices. The Empire later converted the settlement into a prison camp, and its captives were rumored to be the subjects of vile experiments.

Owyn's Stash

In the time when East End still belonged to Gridania, this gloomy cave served as a storehouse for the illicitly brewed stock of an opportunist peddler. Faint fumes from Owyn's potent liquor are said to linger still in the far corners of the cavern.

The Percipient One

As old as the Guardian Tree found in the Central Shroud, this ancient giant dominates the surrounding forest. Log ago, it was said to have harbored a great elemental, but not the slightest trace of the spirit's presence remains. Over the two decades of the Empire's occupation, it would seem that the Percipient One's roots drank too deeply of some unsavory contaminant.
