Talk:Miqo'te

There's been speculations on where the Miqo'te race originated from. One thing the Miqo'te do remember is that they were once persecuted and then enslaved by the Allagan Empire but prior to this there's little knowledge. There is the text indicating that Sesame Seeds were thought to have been introduced to Eorzea from Meracydia by the Miqo'te, but this doesn't give any hints to whether this was before or after the Allagan Empire era. Some ingame hints speculate they are descendants of a race known as the Mithra along with a quote from a Mithra name Nanaa Mihgo that eventually ended up in the hands of a Sharlayan inventor several millenia later (Nanaa Mihgo was the name of the Mithran thief leader in FFXI.) Since back in 2011 it was strongly denied there any ties between FFXI and FFXIV and that their worlds were not the same then there's a couple of likely scenarios - 1) at some point in the past members of the Mithra race from Vana'diel arrived on Etheirys either through exploration or by accident and after several generations evolved into the Miqo'te race; 2) some events that happened on Vana'diel were mirrored in a ways on Etheirys where there was also once a Mithran thief named Nanaa Mihgo that eventually evolved into the Miqo'te race.
