* Over the quiet rush of the falls, the ryu bugyo tells you of the mighty [[Seiryu]], one of the Four Lords of Far Eastern myth. According to the tales passed down through the bugyo's line, Seiryu was a deity who possessed mastery over water, which he used to aid mortals by quelling storms and calming seas. The existence of such a benevolent being serves to assure [[Sibly]], who gives the bugyo her heartfelt thanks. With her task thus accomplished to her satisfaction, the bugyo suggests returning to Limsa Lominsa.

* Their initial dilemma with Sibly resolved, the ryu bugyo and [[Ryunosuke (NPC)|Ryunosuke]] greet you with newfound confidence. Hoping to continue her draconic discussions with those of the upper decks, the bugyo is eager to try approaching the locals once more. For this, too, she requests your assistance, and together you set off to seek out those who may be receptive to her message.
** ※You must be accompanied by the ryu bugyo and Ryunosuke to complete this task. Speak with either of them again should you become separated.

* The ryu bugyo is overjoyed that she and Ryunosuke have inspired the residents of Limsa Lominsa to take an interest in the ryu. With your primary task completed, you head back to the Aftcastle to rejoin the [[Ryu Metsuke|ryu metsuke]].

* Upon arriving at the Aftcastle, you are pleased to discover a lively crowd gathering before the ryu metsuke, who you manage to spot in its midst. The bugyo, however, will not accept the praise alone, and credits you and Ryunosuke for your tireless efforts to make this Heavensturn a successful celebration. Both the bugyo and the metsuke interpret the gesture to mean that he wishes to join you, and you duly accept the honor. However, he is not so pleased to inform you that their mascots─chocobo chicks dressed in ryu costumes─are struggling to win over the locals. Wishing to discover the cause of the cold reception, the metsuke bids you assist his delegation's leader, the [[Ryu Bugyo|ryu bugyo]], who can be found at the edge of the Aftcastle with her feathered friend.

* You encounter the ryu bugyo at the Aftcastle, who is eager to present [[Ryunosuke (NPC)|Ryunosuke]] to her two-person audience─you, and a young girl sitting by her side. Yet while the bugyo's passion cannot be faulted, she fails miserably in her attempt to capture the girl's interest. As she is speaking to you of her woes afterwards, she realizes that Ryunosuke has wandered off after the girl, and asks for your help to find them. Thus do you make your way to the Drowning Wench, hoping to discover clues regarding their whereabouts.

* After a ryu-related misunderstanding, you manage to explain the situation to [[Skaenrael]], who informs you that she saw a girl with a chocobo chick pass through the tavern. However, the guardswoman has no idea where they may have since headed, and at the ryu bugyo's behest, you next take your search to the lower decks.

* You have spoken with several locals on the lower decks. Among other tidbits, you learn that the young girl you seek is named [[Sibly]], and that she fears for the safety of her merchant father, who will soon be embarking on a long voyage. Armed with this knowledge, you go to relay your findings to the ryu bugyo at Bulwark Hall.

* The ryu bugyo is pleased to hear that you have ascertained Sibly's destination. Eager not only to be reunited with Ryunosuke, but to explain the significance of his attire, your armor-clad companion sets off for the Agelyss River in middle La Noscea, where the young girl is believed to be, and you follow on her heels.

* You manage to find Sibly by the riverbed with Ryunosuke at her side. The girl apologizes for causing you trouble, but ere she can take her leave, the bugyo broaches the subject of her father and his impending voyage. Sibly explains that, on account of Llymlaen not being chosen this Heavensturn, she thought that she might instead pray to a Far Eastern deity to keep her father safe. Thus did she seek out the bugyo, only to find her too focused on her own mission to lend an ear. Reflecting upon her blunder, the bugyo is inspired by Ryunosuke and the nearby waterfalls to tell a new tale about the ryu, assuring Sibly that it will grant her comfort.

Dangling the opportunity to acquire your very own set of Far Eastern armor before you, he bids you speak with his colleague, an omikujishi standing near the Tempest Gate.

* As you approach the Far Eastern omikujishi, you find him with a dismayed expression on his face, and soon learn that he has experienced difficulty in getting the townspeople to take an interest in omikuji, a form of fortune-telling native to the Far East. Never one to turn down a soul in need─and with a set of your very own yoroi on the line─you agree to assist him by spreading word of the attraction to any who will listen on the upper decks of Limsa Lominsa.

*From the [[Drowning Wench]] to [[the Missing Member]], you have spread word of the fortune-telling spectacle to people from all walks of life, including a storm lieutenant of [[the Maelstrom]], and even the pirate captain of the Sanguine Sirens herself. You can only hope that enough folk were enticed by your words to give the omikujishi the audience he deserves.

*Upon returning to the omikujishi, he thanks you for your assistance, and asks that you remain at his side to see the fruits of your labor. As the townspeople amass and read their fortunes, you observe reactions both of glee and despair. Should you find yourself with a moment to spare, there may be another matter you can assist the omikujishi with.

Usagi Doshin: Good morrow to you, my lady. I am the usagi doshin, a member of a Far Eastern delegation come to share our traditions of Heavensturn with the good people of Eorzea. If there is aught you would know of this year's celebration, you need only ask.

Usagi Bugyo: Greetings, madam. From your bearing, I gather you are an adventurer. If so, there is a matter I would discuss with you!

Usagi Bugyo: Ah, but where are my manners? I am the usagi bugyo, a member of a delegation hailing from Hingashi, a nation in the Far East. Each year, we travel across the seas to share our tradition of Heavensturn with the peoples of Eorzea.

Usagi Bugyo: In this realm, it is held that the gods raise up one amongst their number each year to serve as a herald of good fortune. In the Far East, however, 'tis not a god, but one of twelve noble beasts that is chosen.

Usagi Bugyo: In previous Heavensturn celebrations, we gifted participants kabuto fashioned after the presiding beast. But this year, we have an even greater reward: an entire set of armor!

Usagi Bugyo: Lest you wonder, I am wearing the very prize we offer. Magnificent, is it not? Surely you wish to claim a set for yourself?

Usagi Bugyo: If you do, I encourage you to speak with the omikujishi standing near the Tempest Gate. He is a member of our delegation, and would be honored to present you with the armor. You need but heed his request.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Truly? To know omikuji, you must be familiar with the culture of the Far East indeed! That being so, I will keep my explanation of it brief.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: A form of fortune-telling, omikuji may be translated as “sacred lots” in your tongue. One receives a lot at random, and with it a message from the divine upon a piece of parchment.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: The message contains principles that describe what will bring one fortune─or misfortune. By taking these principles to heart, one will be visited with happiness.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Omikuji are an indispensible part of the Heavensturn celebration in the Far East, and I'm honored for the opportunity to share this tradition with the people of Eorzea.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Alas, perhaps due to a lack of familiarity, but a few souls have stopped to have their fortune told thus far... And this brings me to my request. If you are willing, I ask that you spread word of this auspicious opportunity to the townsfolk.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: You have my thanks! As a local, I trust you know where to look for potential participants. I look forward to receiving those souls you send my way!

Hildelana: The idea of entrusting one's fortune to chance is a bit too superstitious for my liking, but I'm certainly curious. We'll be sure to let our colleagues in the Adventurers' Guild know about it.

I'tolwann: Far Eastern fortune-telling, you say? I'd wager some of our patrons would be keen. Fortune favors the bold, after all, and most here don't want for audacity─sense be damned.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Welcome, one and all! It is my pleasure to introduce to you a time-honored fortune-telling tradition of the Far East: the omikuji!

Far Eastern Omikujishi: The process is simple. Begin by shaking yonder box until it dispenses a stick. There will be a number on the stick, which indicates which of these drawers you are to open.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Take a piece of paper from that drawer. Upon it your fortune is written.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Once you have read your fortune, you may tie the parchment to the rack yonder. By doing so, good fortune will become better still, whilst misfortune will be cleansed. Alternately, you may also keep the parchment with you to guide you throughout the year.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: So...who wishes to learn their fortune first?

Hildelana: Yesss! Mine says “great fortune”─the luckiest you can get! There isn't a single negative thing written on it. Hehe, I can throw myself wholeheartedly into adventuring this year!

Beaudefoin: D-Damn it all! Mine says...“grave misfortune.” I'm doomed... Doomed, I tell you!

Rhoswen: “The one yer waitin' fer is on their way”...? “The love o' yer life will appear”...? Th-This is all too sudden!

* Concerned by the Far Eastern omikujishi's worried expression, you approach him once more to discover what may have caused the furrow in his brow. Before you can say a word, however, he asks for a moment of your time, nodding in Beaudefoin's direction. His desire to lift the adventurer's spirits is quickly apparent, and though he makes a valiant effort to do so, the despondent man can no longer see reason. Convinced that his words cannot reach the down-on-his-luck adventurer, the omikujishi instead turns to you, asking that you too make an attempt to cheer the poor man up.
** ※Please note that you will be unable to complete this quest after the seasonal event has ended. For details, please check the Lodestone.

* Despite your best efforts to rally Beaudefoin's spirits, it is to no avail. The omikujishi refuses to give up on the crestfallen man, however, and asks that you try to reach him once more with a different approach.

* Seeing that your second attempt to rouse Beaudefoin is unfruitful, the omikujishi bids him recite the contents of the fortune, only to discover the dejected man had never read the whole thing. And yet, upon reading it, Beaudefoin somehow manages to sink even further into the depths of despair. The omikujishi, having at last lost patience, reads the remainder of the fortune himself. The fortune's final words of guidance, and a well-placed remark from yourself are what finally release Beaudefoin from the clutches of his own fear. But no sooner has he been made to see reason than the mochi daikan appears before you out of breath, bringing distressing news of an adventurer in trouble. Believing this adventurer to be [[Hildelana]], Beaudefoin rushes off to the rescue. Concerned whether Beaudefoin is in the right state of mind to be saving anyone, the omikujishi asks that you follow after him, to which you oblige.

* Though you find Hildelana and Beaudefoin free from any serious harm, the same cannot be said for Beaudefoin's beloved armor. The adventurer pair set off to visit the armorer and promise to find you again later. The mochi daikan suggests that you both return to Limsa Lominsa, and report the current state of affairs to the omikujishi.

* Just as you finish reciting the tale of Beaudefoin and Hildelana's rescue to the omikujishi, the pair return as promised. Having heard that naught can be done for Beaudefoin's armor, and moved by his selfless act, the [[Usagi Bugyo|usagi bugyo]] insists that the adventurer accept a set of yoroi from the Far Eastern delegation. The omikujishi reminds the flabbergasted man, still unable to believe his luck, that omikuji should be seen as a guide, and not as one's fate set in stone. With a new set of armor in tow, Beaudefoin and Hildelana are ready to set off on a new adventure, their bond of friendship tempered by the day's events. Turning to you, the omikujishi thanks you for your service, offering you a set of yoroi of your own, and the opportunity to draw as many omikuji as you wish. With your obligations thus fulfilled, you are free to enjoy the remainder of the festivities to your heart's content.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Do not be so disheartened, my friend. Though omikuji may foretell fortune and misfortune, they also provide us with guidance in our daily lives.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: A great blessing can become a curse should one view it as a license to act rashly. Similarly, a great curse can become a blessing should one heed its warning. What you make of your lot depends on you.

Beaudefoin: So you say...but just look at Hildelana. At how happy she is. Why can't I be like that...

Far Eastern Omikujishi: My words failed to reach him, alas, but perhaps yours can. Could you try to '''rally''' his spirits?

Hildelana: Please do not blame yourself. I'm the one who overestimated my own abilities. Having “great fortune” doesn't mean that one can act without due care, I realize this now.

Hildelana: And I would have realized sooner had I properly read the omikuji beforehand. “Adventure: The way shall open to those who know their limits,” it says...

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Believing the vast wisdom bestowed upon him was not his alone to keep, the monk compiled each of the twelve revelations from the twelve beasts into fortunes─one hundred and forty-four all told─and then began a journey to spread this knowledge to others, for the benefit of all.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: As he traveled the land, word of the fortunes spread far and wide throughout the Far East. That, my friend, is how omikuji came to be.

* While Nhagi'a ponders matters, Kipih asks that you watch over him, and the wandering minstrel adds his voice to her request. Thus do you set off after the young adventurer, who went in the direction of the Sapphire Avenue Exchange.
** ※Please note that you will be unable to complete this quest after the seasonal event has ended. For details, please check the Lodestone.

* You find Nhagi'a in the midst of rumination. He explains to you that he was a burden to Kipih in the past, and he doesn't wish to be a burden again. That is his motivation for wanting to become a capable adventurer who doesn't need to depend on others, and he struggles to see why that is wrong. In his search for an answer, he decides to consult Momodi, and makes his way to the Quicksand.

* The chat with Momodi works wonders, and Nhagi'a comes to the realization that, at some point, his desire to prove himself to his sister had displaced his own motive for being an adventurer. Back outside the Quicksand, you turn to Nhagi'a to see what he intends to do next.

* Nhagi'a tells you that he now has an answer for Kipih, and when they speak, he wants to show her one of the letters he collected. To that end, he asks you to help him find the letter in the Gold Court, and together you go to rejoin the wandering minstrel.

* The wandering minstrel is happy for Nhagi'a to borrow the letter in question. The three of you then proceed to search for the missive, which is identifiable by the drawing of a blue chocobo that adorns it.

* A brief search yields what appears to be the letter you seek, and you take it over to Nhagi'a.

* Nhagi'a confirms that this is indeed the letter he wishes to show to Kipih, and he promptly heads over to the Weavers' Guild, where she had indicated that she had business. Wishing to know how events unfold, the wandering minstrel bids you accompany the young adventurer for his meeting with his sister.

* At the Weavers' Guild, you watch on as the siblings bare their hearts to one another. Nhagi'a declares that he will no longer obsess over doing everything alone, having remembered why he became an adventurer in the first place. Relieved, Kipih takes the opportunity to remind him of how, as a young boy, he had told her that he wanted to simply be a free-spirited adventurer who traveled the world and lent a helping hand to those in need. Saddened to see that boy lose his way, Kipih had spoken sternly, but it was never her intent to deny him his calling, and she wholeheartedly supports him now as he continues on his path. Thus does the tale come to a happy conclusion, and you bid the two a fond farewell as they return to walking their respective paths.

* You report back to the wandering minstrel, who expresses his gladness for the siblings. Inspired by these events, he conceives of a verse and proceeds to perform it. Even as the first chord resounds in your ear, you find yourself hurtling through unknown skies aboard an airship, where you meet with the mysterious Naoki Yoshida. The man thanks you for your enduring support, and shares his excitement for what yet lies ahead, before sending you back to reality. After you return to yourself on the streets of Ul'dah, the minstrel performs for you another song─one imbued with the hope that you will never forget whence you came, for therein lies the strength to forge on in the face of adversity.

Wandering Minstrel: It appears Kipih wants her brother to rethink what adventuring is to him. Had the question been posed to you, what answer you would arrive at, I wonder...

Kipih Jakkya: If truth be told, no matter what Nhagi wants to do, it is my intent to support him.
Kipih Jakkya: It's his life, after all, and no one else's. It isn't my place to interfere.
Kipih Jakkya: Be that as it may, if he is sabotaging his own aspirations with his obsession for my approval, I can't simply stand idly by and watch.
Kipih Jakkya: Loath though I am to impose, until my brother has found his answer, might I trouble you to keep an eye on him?

Wandering Minstrel: Please take it as a request from me as well. Ever has adventuring been dangerous, and it is more dangerous still for one who spurns help.
Wandering Minstrel: Like Kipih, I do not wish for Nhagi to continue on his current path. As a fellow adventurer, please help him find a better way.

Kipih Jakkya: Thank you.
Kipih Jakkya: Now then, on a related matter, I must pay a visit to the Weavers' Guild, but I will see you again anon. If you'll excuse me...

* Kipih Jakkya, a reporter for ''The Raven'', was meant to meet her brother Nhagi'a during the Rising celebration, but the appointed hour has come and gone without him appearing. You are tasked with helping to find the lad, beginning by making inquiries at the Ruby Road Exchange.
** ※Please note that you will be unable to complete this quest after the seasonal event has ended. For details, please check the Lodestone.

* You learn from the locals that Nhagi'a is performing some manner of work for the wandering minstrel. Thus informed, you make your way to the Gold Court to find the musician.

* The wandering minstrel tells you that he is hosting an exhibit called the letter forest, which displays anonymously penned letters of gratitude and encouragement. In order to collect letters from outside of Ul'dah, the man has dispatched a chocobo carriage with Nhagi'a as an escort. However, the carriage is late to return, and the minstrel apologetically asks you to conduct a search. Having thus found a likely lead, you bear the news to Kipih, who awaits you near the Quicksand.

* You apprise Kipih of your findings. As the wandering minstrel suggested, you take yourselves to Black Brush Station to look for the carriage and Nhagi'a.

* No sooner do you arrive at Black Brush Station than you learn from a traveling merchant that bandits have fallen upon a carriage over by the Clutch. Wasting no time, you and Kipih rush to the scene and scare the highwaymen away before they can overwhelm Nhagi'a. Thus are the siblings reunited─although Nhagi'a's utterance that he needs to grow stronger to gain Kipih's approval appears to give her pause. Nhagi'a then continues on to Ul'dah with the carriage to complete his delivery, and you and Kipih likewise head back to join the wandering minstrel at the Gold Court.

* Reporting to the minstrel, Nhagi'a is critical of himself for needing your help to complete his task. His obsession with doing everything alone does not sit well with Kipih, who declares that she can't consent to his being an adventurer any longer. If he wishes to remain one, he must win her over─and it begins with pondering why he first embarked upon this path. Though saddened, Nhagi'a agrees to think on the matter and goes off, leaving you with the minstrel and a grim-faced Kipih.

* Despite how it may have appeared, Kipih assures you that she wants her brother to succeed and be happy. However, she is worried that unless he changes his ways, he is likely to meet an early demise, or at best know an arduous life.
