* The ryu bugyo has a mind to make for Woad Whisper Canyon.
** ※This quest is available for a limited time only.

* Having taken a moment to contemplate her approach, the ryu bugyo is now ready to tell her tale. She sets off for the waterfalls at Woad Whisper Canyon, which she believes will provide the perfect backdrop.
** ※Please note that you will be unable to complete this quest after the seasonal event has ended. For details, check the Lodestone.

* Over the quiet rush of the falls, the ryu bugyo tells you of the mighty Seiryu, one of the Four Lords of Far Eastern myth. According to the tales passed down through the bugyo's line, Seiryu was a deity who possessed mastery over water, which he used to aid mortals by quelling storms and calming seas. The existence of such a benevolent being serves to assure Sibly, who gives the bugyo her heartfelt thanks. With her task thus accomplished to her satisfaction, the bugyo suggests returning to Limsa Lominsa.

* Their initial dilemma with Sibly resolved, the ryu bugyo and Ryunosuke greet you with newfound confidence. Hoping to continue her draconic discussions with those of the upper decks, the bugyo is eager to try approaching the locals once more. For this, too, she requests your assistance, and together you set off to seek out those who may be receptive to her message.
** ※You must be accompanied by the ryu bugyo and Ryunosuke to complete this task. Speak with either of them again should you become separated.

* The ryu bugyo is overjoyed that she and Ryunosuke have inspired the residents of Limsa Lominsa to take an interest in the ryu. With your primary task completed, you head back to the Aftcastle to rejoin the ryu metsuke.
** ※You must be accompanied by the ryu bugyo and Ryunosuke to complete this task. Speak with either of them again should you become separated.

* Upon arriving at the Aftcastle, you are pleased to discover a lively crowd gathering before the ryu metsuke, who you manage to spot in its midst. With an exuberation that nearly defies his years, he thanks the ryu bugyo for her service to their divine beast. The bugyo, however, will not accept the praise alone, and credits you and Ryunosuke for your tireless efforts to make this Heavensturn a successful celebration. Even as she ponders a suitable reward for your invaluable aid, the chocobo chick flutters towards your side with many a happy kweh. Both the bugyo and the metsuke interpret the gesture to mean that he wishes to join you, and you duly accept the honor. Thus accompanied by the new year's symbol of good fortune, you take a moment to revel in the celebration you have helped save.
However, he is not so pleased to inform you that their mascots─chocobo chicks dressed in ryu costumes─are struggling to win over the locals. Wishing to discover the cause of the cold reception, the metsuke bids you assist his delegation's leader, the ryu bugyo, who can be found at the edge of the Aftcastle with her feathered friend.
* You encounter the ryu bugyo at the Aftcastle, who is eager to present Ryunosuke to her two-person audience─you, and a young girl sitting by her side. Yet while the bugyo's passion cannot be faulted, she fails miserably in her attempt to capture the girl's interest. As she is speaking to you of her woes afterwards, she realizes that Ryunosuke has wandered off after the girl, and asks for your help to find them. Thus do you make your way to the Drowning Wench, hoping to discover clues regarding their whereabouts.

* After a ryu-related misunderstanding, you manage to explain the situation to Skaenrael, who informs you that she saw a girl with a chocobo chick pass through the tavern. However, the guardswoman has no idea where they may have since headed, and at the ryu bugyo's behest, you next take your search to the lower decks.

* You have spoken with several locals on the lower decks. Among other tidbits, you learn that the young girl you seek is named Sibly, and that she fears for the safety of her merchant father, who will soon be embarking on a long voyage. Armed with this knowledge, you go to relay your findings to the ryu bugyo at Bulwark Hall.

* The ryu bugyo is pleased to hear that you have ascertained Sibly's destination. Eager not only to be reunited with Ryunosuke, but to explain the significance of his attire, your armor-clad companion sets off for the Agelyss River in middle La Noscea, where the young girl is believed to be, and you follow on her heels.

* You manage to find Sibly by the riverbed with Ryunosuke at her side. The girl apologizes for causing you trouble, but ere she can take her leave, the bugyo broaches the subject of her father and his impending voyage. Sibly explains that, on account of Llymlaen not being chosen this Heavensturn, she thought that she might instead pray to a Far Eastern deity to keep her father safe. Thus did she seek out the bugyo, only to find her too focused on her own mission to lend an ear. Reflecting upon her blunder, the bugyo is inspired by Ryunosuke and the nearby waterfalls to tell a new tale about the ryu, assuring Sibly that it will grant her comfort.
* This Heavensturn, the usagi bugyo, a member of a Far Eastern delegation come from Hingashi, is eager to introduce the good people of Eorzea to a tradition sure to change their fortune for the better. Eyeing you carefully, he ascertains that you are an adventurer, and mentions a request he would make of you. Dangling the opportunity to acquire your very own set of Far Eastern armor before you, he bids you speak with his colleague, an omikujishi standing near the Tempest Gate.
** ※Please note that you will be unable to complete this quest after the seasonal event has ended. For details, please check the Lodestone.
* As you approach the Far Eastern omikujishi, you find him with a dismayed expression on his face, and soon learn that he has experienced difficulty in getting the townspeople to take an interest in omikuji, a form of fortune-telling native to the Far East. Never one to turn down a soul in need─and with a set of your very own yoroi on the line─you agree to assist him by spreading word of the attraction to any who will listen on the upper decks of Limsa Lominsa.

*From the Drowning Wench to the Missing Member, you have spread word of the fortune-telling spectacle to people from all walks of life, including a storm lieutenant of the Maelstrom, and even the pirate captain of the Sanguine Sirens herself. You can only hope that enough folk were enticed by your words to give the omikujishi the audience he deserves.

*Upon returning to the omikujishi, he thanks you for your assistance, and asks that you remain at his side to see the fruits of your labor. As the townspeople amass and read their fortunes, you observe reactions both of glee and despair. Should you find yourself with a moment to spare, there may be another matter you can assist the omikujishi with.
Dialogue
Usagi Doshin: Good morrow to you, my lady. I am the usagi doshin, a member of a Far Eastern delegation come to share our traditions of Heavensturn with the good people of Eorzea. If there is aught you would know of this year's celebration, you need only ask.

Usagi Bugyo: Greetings, madam. From your bearing, I gather you are an adventurer. If so, there is a matter I would discuss with you!

Usagi Bugyo: Ah, but where are my manners? I am the usagi bugyo, a member of a delegation hailing from Hingashi, a nation in the Far East. Each year, we travel across the seas to share our tradition of Heavensturn with the peoples of Eorzea.

Usagi Bugyo: In this realm, it is held that the gods raise up one amongst their number each year to serve as a herald of good fortune. In the Far East, however, 'tis not a god, but one of twelve noble beasts that is chosen.

Usagi Bugyo: In previous Heavensturn celebrations, we gifted participants kabuto fashioned after the presiding beast. But this year, we have an even greater reward: an entire set of armor!

Usagi Bugyo: Lest you wonder, I am wearing the very prize we offer. Magnificent, is it not? Surely you wish to claim a set for yourself?

Usagi Bugyo: If you do, I encourage you to speak with the omikujishi standing near the Tempest Gate. He is a member of our delegation, and would be honored to present you with the armor. You need but heed his request.

“The Box of Fortune” accepted.

Speaking to the NPC Immediately after:
Usagi Bugyo: Seek out the omikujishi near the Tempest Gate. He is in charge of this year's celebration, and will tell you how to participate─and win yourself this magnificent armor!
-----

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Greetings, friend. I take it you have spoken with my associate, the usagi bugyo, and are willing to lend your assistance.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Before I make any request of you, may I ask if you are at all familiar with the word “omikuji”?

What will you say?
> As a matter of fact, I am.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Truly? To know omikuji, you must be familiar with the culture of the Far East indeed! That being so, I will keep my explanation of it brief.

> Omiku-what?

Far Eastern Omikujishi: A form of fortune-telling, omikuji may be translated as “sacred lots” in your tongue. One receives a lot at random, and with it a message from the divine upon a piece of parchment.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: The message contains principles that describe what will bring one fortune─or misfortune. By taking these principles to heart, one will be visited with happiness.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Omikuji are an indispensible part of the Heavensturn celebration in the Far East, and I'm honored for the opportunity to share this tradition with the people of Eorzea.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Alas, perhaps due to a lack of familiarity, but a few souls have stopped to have their fortune told thus far... And this brings me to my request. If you are willing, I ask that you spread word of this auspicious opportunity to the townsfolk.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: You have my thanks! As a local, I trust you know where to look for potential participants. I look forward to receiving those souls you send my way!

“The Box of Fortune” objective fulfilled!

Speaking to the NPC Immediately after:
Far Eastern Omikujishi: My thanks again for spreading word of the omikuji. I look forward to receiving those souls you send my way!
-----

Trachraet: I've seen my fair share of 'Eavensturn celebrations, but I can't say I've 'eard o' this omikuji business afore. Does sound interestin', though.

Trachraet: When me shift ends, I'll head over with some comrades. Might make a nice diversion, an' I'll take the opportunity to welcome the Far Eastern delegation on behalf o' the Maelstrom.

A'brohka: Cap'n Rhoswen's led the Sanguine Sirens to the top o' the food chain 'ere in Limsa. Ye want to join the meanest crew on the sea, then ye'd best bloody yer cutlass an' thicken yer 'ide.

Rhoswen: I'd known the Far Easterners were back fer 'Eavensturn, but they're doin' fortune-tellin' as well this time, ye say?

Rhoswen: These fortunes... They say anythin' about relationships? Ye know, between a man an' a woman?

Rhoswen: J-Just curious, is all. D-Don't get any strange ideas.

A'brohka: Cap'n Rhoswen's led the Sanguine Sirens to the top o' the food chain 'ere in Limsa. Ye want to join the meanest crew on the sea, then ye'd best bloody yer cutlass an' thicken yer 'ide.

Speaking to the NPC Immediately after:
Rhoswen: Reckon I'll go an' check out this omikuji. N-Not that I put any store by such nonsense, mind ye. I've got free time, is all...
-----

Hildelana: Just like that, another Heavensturn's upon us. As much as Beaudefoin and I enjoy chaperoning the Moonfire Faire, I must say it's nice to simply lose yourself in a festival.

Beaudefoin: A traditional test of luck for the new year? Consider me intrigued! As proud chaperones of the Moonfire Faire, we have a responsibility to learn what we can from other festivals.

Hildelana: The idea of entrusting one's fortune to chance is a bit too superstitious for my liking, but I'm certainly curious. We'll be sure to let our colleagues in the Adventurers' Guild know about it.

I'tolwann: Far Eastern fortune-telling, you say? I'd wager some of our patrons would be keen. Fortune favors the bold, after all, and most here don't want for audacity─sense be damned.

I'tolwann: I'll nudge a few customers your way while taking orders. It's the least I can do in return for the extra business we get thanks to Heavensturn.

Speaking to the NPC Immediately after:
I'tolwann: Folk need no encouragement to drink themselves under the table, but they need even less this time of year. I'll be mindful of who I send your way.
-----

Far Eastern Omikujishi: You have finished spreading word of the omikuji? My heartfelt thanks!

Far Eastern Omikujishi: I daresay we can expect some participants to appear soon. Please stay and observe the proceedings!

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Welcome, one and all! It is my pleasure to introduce to you a time-honored fortune-telling tradition of the Far East: the omikuji!

Far Eastern Omikujishi: The process is simple. Begin by shaking yonder box until it dispenses a stick. There will be a number on the stick, which indicates which of these drawers you are to open.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Take a piece of paper from that drawer. Upon it your fortune is written.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Once you have read your fortune, you may tie the parchment to the rack yonder. By doing so, good fortune will become better still, whilst misfortune will be cleansed. Alternately, you may also keep the parchment with you to guide you throughout the year.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: So...who wishes to learn their fortune first?

Hildelana: Yesss! Mine says “great fortune”─the luckiest you can get! There isn't a single negative thing written on it. Hehe, I can throw myself wholeheartedly into adventuring this year!

Beaudefoin: D-Damn it all! Mine says...“grave misfortune.” I'm doomed... Doomed, I tell you!

Rhoswen: “The one yer waitin' fer is on their way”...? “The love o' yer life will appear”...? Th-This is all too sudden!

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Ahhh, 'tis a fine feeling to have others experience and enjoy your culture... Now, what of you, my friend? Would you care to learn your own fortune? As thanks for your help, the first lot will be free of charge.

What will you say?
> Yes please!

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Then go on, give the box a good shake!

[Insert your fortune cutscene here.]

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Allow me to thank you once more. Without your help, these folk may never have discovered omikuji. Whatever the divine may have in store for you, I pray the coming year will bring you happiness.

> No thanks—I determine my own fortune.

* The Far Eastern omikujishi appears troubled by what he is seeing.
** ※This quest is available for a limited time only.

* Concerned by the Far Eastern omikujishi's worried expression, you approach him once more to discover what may have caused the furrow in his brow. Before you can say a word, however, he asks for a moment of your time, nodding in Beaudefoin's direction. His desire to lift the adventurer's spirits is quickly apparent, and though he makes a valiant effort to do so, the despondent man can no longer see reason. Convinced that his words cannot reach the down-on-his-luck adventurer, the omikujishi instead turns to you, asking that you too make an attempt to cheer the poor man up.
** ※Please note that you will be unable to complete this quest after the seasonal event has ended. For details, please check the Lodestone.

* Despite your best efforts to rally Beaudefoin's spirits, it is to no avail. The omikujishi refuses to give up on the crestfallen man, however, and asks that you try to reach him once more with a different approach.

* Seeing that your second attempt to rouse Beaudefoin is unfruitful, the omikujishi bids him recite the contents of the fortune, only to discover the dejected man had never read the whole thing. And yet, upon reading it, Beaudefoin somehow manages to sink even further into the depths of despair. The omikujishi, having at last lost patience, reads the remainder of the fortune himself. The fortune's final words of guidance, and a well-placed remark from yourself are what finally release Beaudefoin from the clutches of his own fear. But no sooner has he been made to see reason than the mochi daikan appears before you out of breath, bringing distressing news of an adventurer in trouble. Believing this adventurer to be Hildelana, Beaudefoin rushes off to the rescue. Concerned whether Beaudefoin is in the right state of mind to be saving anyone, the omikujishi asks that you follow after him, to which you oblige.

* Though you find Hildelana and Beaudefoin free from any serious harm, the same cannot be said for Beaudefoin's beloved armor. The adventurer pair set off to visit the armorer and promise to find you again later. The mochi daikan suggests that you both return to Limsa Lominsa, and report the current state of affairs to the omikujishi.

* Just as you finish reciting the tale of Beaudefoin and Hildelana's rescue to the omikujishi, the pair return as promised. Having heard that naught can be done for Beaudefoin's armor, and moved by his selfless act, the usagi bugyo insists that the adventurer accept a set of yoroi from the Far Eastern delegation. The omikujishi reminds the flabbergasted man, still unable to believe his luck, that omikuji should be seen as a guide, and not as one's fate set in stone. With a new set of armor in tow, Beaudefoin and Hildelana are ready to set off on a new adventure, their bond of friendship tempered by the day's events. Turning to you, the omikujishi thanks you for your service, offering you a set of yoroi of your own, and the opportunity to draw as many omikuji as you wish. With your obligations thus fulfilled, you are free to enjoy the remainder of the festivities to your heart's content.

Dialogue
Far Eastern Omikujishi: Forgive me, my friend, but might I ask for another moment of your time?

Far Eastern Omikujishi: In no small part due to your assistance, many are enjoying their first experience with omikuji. For some, however, it appears to be a source of stress...

Far Eastern Omikujishi: These two adventurers, for example, drew opposite results...

Hildelana: “Great fortune,” it says! Can you believe it!? That means I have naught to fear... Aye, this is my chance to make it big as an adventurer!

Beaudefoin: Seven hells, what a dreadful Heavensturn this turned out to be... “Grave misfortune”? What did I do to deserve such rotten luck?

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Do not be so disheartened, my friend. Though omikuji may foretell fortune and misfortune, they also provide us with guidance in our daily lives.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: A great blessing can become a curse should one view it as a license to act rashly. Similarly, a great curse can become a blessing should one heed its warning. What you make of your lot depends on you.

Beaudefoin: So you say...but just look at Hildelana. At how happy she is. Why can't I be like that...

Far Eastern Omikujishi: My words failed to reach him, alas, but perhaps yours can. Could you try to rally his spirits?

“With Great Fortune Comes Great Responsibility” accepted.

Speaking to the NPC immediately after:
Far Eastern Omikujishi: I cannot bear to see the poor man this way. Please, try to rally his spirits.

-----
Speaking to the NPC immediately before:
Beaudefoin: Ah, woe is me! What am I to do when misfortune awaits me at every turn?

Beaudefoin is crestfallen. Perhaps there is something you can do to rally his spirits.
-----

You try to cheer Beaudefoin up.

Beaudefoin: Thank you for trying to cheer me up. I appreciate it, truly. But you do not understand the burden I bear. The burden of “grave misfortune” that weighs heavily upon my soul...

Far Eastern Omikujishi: This is rather more serious than I thought... Please, can you think of any other ways to lift him out of his malaise?

“With Great Fortune Comes Great Responsibility” objective fulfilled!

Beaudefoin: Y-You're right. I mustn't give up the fight. And yet...

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Do you feel better, my friend?

Far Eastern Omikujishi: I see... If I may, what did the omikuji say in its entirety? As I mentioned, they do not only foretell one's fate, but also provide guidance in one's daily life.

Beaudefoin: I must confess, I didn't see anything beyond the words “grave misfortune,” so shocked I was. I ought to have a proper read, I suppose. Let's see here...

Beaudefoin: “Adventure: Thou must think of others before thyself.” Well, that isn't so bad. And next...“Prosperity: Prepare to lose thy treasured armor”...

Beaudefoin: <whimper> I knew I shouldn't have read the blasted thing... This set of armor is my pride and joy─I worked myself to the bone earning the gil to pay for it. And now I'm going to lose it all...

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Come now, let us read the omikuji to the end!

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Look: “As the Navigator maintaineth Her net, so too must thou tend to thy friendships. Let not camaraderie's weave fall into disrepair.” ...Sage advice, would you not agree?

What will you say?
> Treasure your comrades, and your luck may change for the better.

> What matters is how you choose to act.

Beaudefoin: Yes... Yes, you are right. My thanks to the two of you for helping me to see sense.

Mochi Daikan: Help! I need help! <pant>

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Mochi daikan! Calm down and tell us what ails you.

Mochi Daikan: I-I was preparing for the mochi pounding when a young adventurer, cheerful and fearless, emerged from the city...

Mochi Daikan: At first I didn't pay her much mind...but then to my horror, she ran afoul of a group of enormous fiends! The monstrosities overwhelmed her in mere moments, and I rushed here as quickly as I could for help.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: A cheerful and fearless young adventurer? Kami preserve, could it be Hildelana!?

Beaudefoin: What!? But...how can this be? She was supposed to have “great fortune”!

Beaudefoin: Ugh, but this isn't the time for such questions... I must go to her aid!

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Beaudefoin, wait!

Far Eastern Omikujishi: This is a troubling situation...

Far Eastern Omikujishi: You strike me as an adventurer of considerable prowess. Will you not go after Beaudefoin and lend your aid if necessary?

Mochi Daikan: Our thanks! Please follow me!

“With Great Fortune Comes Great Responsibility” objective fulfilled!

Speaking to the NPC immediately after:
Far Eastern Omikujishi: As much as I wish to help, I would only be a hindrance. Please see that both Hildelana and Beaudefoin are safe.
-----

You have left the sanctuary.

Hildelana: You came too... Thank you...

Beaudefoin: Followed me here, did you? We both took a bit of a beating, but I'm pleased to say we're still breathing.

Hildelana: I finished the guild's request without issue, but then I got greedy. If Beaudefoin hadn't arrived when he did, who knows what might have happened...

Beaudefoin: I merely did what any friend would, Hildelana. I'm just glad I made it in time.

Hildelana: I shouldn't have put you through that. And look what's become of your armor... I'm so sorry, Beaudefoin. It's broken because of me...

Beaudefoin: Oh, don't mention it. It's a small price for protecting a dear friend, and one I'd willingly pay again and again.

Beaudefoin: Heh, but if this didn't play out exactly as the omikuji had foretold...

Beaudefoin: Well, let's return to the city. For one, I need to pay the armorers a visit, but we'll look for you afterwards!

Mochi Daikan: What a relief that neither of them came to lasting harm... Let us head back ourselves. The omikujishi will doubtless be eager to hear the tidings.

“With Great Fortune Comes Great Responsibility” objective fulfilled!

You have entered a sanctuary.

Speaking to the NPC immediately before:
Mochi Daikan: Ah, there you are. Hopefully Beaudefoin and Hildelana will join us as well.
-----

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Welcome back, my friend! I understand everyone is safe, but what happened out there?

Far Eastern Omikujishi: My friends, I cannot well express how relieved I am for your preservation. It is because I failed to explain the omikuji in sufficient detail that you met with danger. I can't apologize enough...

Hildelana: Please do not blame yourself. I'm the one who overestimated my own abilities. Having “great fortune” doesn't mean that one can act without due care, I realize this now.

Hildelana: And I would have realized sooner had I properly read the omikuji beforehand. “Adventure: The way shall open to those who know their limits,” it says...

Hildelana: But there's more. “Relationships: Thou shalt be blessed with stalwart comrades.” And I truly am.

Mochi Daikan: Ah, that reminds me─what became of your armor? You wished to have it repaired, I believe.

Beaudefoin: Unfortunately, it was too far gone. The armorer told me it would make more sense to have a new one crafted...not that I have that sort of coin either.

Usagi Bugyo: In that case, I believe we can be of service. We offer a set of yoroi─armor, in your tongue─as a reward to those who have helped to make this Heavensturn celebration better. You have more than earned it.

Beaudefoin: Truly!? This sounds too good to be true...

Usagi Bugyo: Ah, but it is true, my friend, and no more than you deserve. Come now, don't be shy. Take your prize and try it on!

Beaudefoin: It's magnificent! Just magnificent! Heh, and to think my omikuji said “grave misfortune”!

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Take this as a lesson that, no matter your fortune, you still hold the power to shape your fate. And I believe the yoroi suits you well, if I might add.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: As you will recall, your fortune cautioned you to put the needs of others before yourself. And so you did, by risking your life to save your comrade. That selfless act may well have reversed your “grave misfortune.”

Hildelana: I see! ...Actually, I don't. I don't really understand the workings of omikuji, but I do know that I'll always have Beaudefoin's back, just as he's always had mine. And, now that he has a new set of armor, perhaps we can take to the road. Together.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: I can't thank you enough for helping with the many unexpected troubles that occurred this day. I would be honored if you'd accept a set of yoroi of your own.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Furthermore, should you wish to draw omikuji, you need only say the word. Indeed, I hope to see you many more times before the festivities end!

Speaking to the NPC immediately after:
Far Eastern Omikujishi: It is good to see you, my friend. Tell me, how may I be of service?

What will you do?
> Draw omikuji.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: You may draw as many as you like, but know that you must pay a fee of 100 gil per draw.

>> Pay 100 gil to draw a lot?

>>> Yes.

[Insert your fortune cutscene here.]

Far Eastern Omikujishi: How did you fare? Whether it was the desired result or otherwise, I pray the words imparted by the fortune serve to guide you in the coming days.

>>> No.

> Learn about the origins of omikuji.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Omikuji date back thousands of years. 'Tis said that twelve beasts of Far Eastern legend─known locally as messengers of the divine─once appeared before a monk in his dreams, and imparted to him twelve divine revelations each.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Believing the vast wisdom bestowed upon him was not his alone to keep, the monk compiled each of the twelve revelations from the twelve beasts into fortunes─one hundred and forty-four all told─and then began a journey to spread this knowledge to others, for the benefit of all.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: As he traveled the land, word of the fortunes spread far and wide throughout the Far East. That, my friend, is how omikuji came to be.

> Learn about the omikujishi.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: I am but a man who, over the course of many winters, has come to find himself enthralled by the mysteries surrounding the number twelve.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: The twelve beasts of the Far East, the Twelve deities of Eorzea, and the twelve surnames of Viera males─do you not find your own curiosity piqued by how the number appears in myriad cultures around the star? I cannot help but wonder if there is some connection between them we have yet to discover.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: It was during my journey to uncover this mystery that I discovered the omikuji, and it is the omikuji which have led me to where I stand today.

Far Eastern Omikujishi: Ah, I never did tell you my name, did I? It is “Morisoba,” at present. Though we Viera who have chosen to venture from our homeland are prone to changing our names on a whim, I'm a rather unusual case. I switch between twelve different names depending on the outlook of my fortune!
-----

Speaking to the NPC immediately after:
Mochi Daikan: I am thrilled to see one and all enjoying the omikuji so. Though our cultures be different, it is wonderful that we can still come together in celebration like this year after year.
* Kipih Jakkya is again looking a worried sister.
** ※This quest is available for a limited time only.

* While Nhagi'a ponders matters, Kipih asks that you watch over him, and the wandering minstrel adds his voice to her request. Thus do you set off after the young adventurer, who went in the direction of the Sapphire Avenue Exchange.
** ※Please note that you will be unable to complete this quest after the seasonal event has ended. For details, please check the Lodestone.

* You find Nhagi'a in the midst of rumination. He explains to you that he was a burden to Kipih in the past, and he doesn't wish to be a burden again. That is his motivation for wanting to become a capable adventurer who doesn't need to depend on others, and he struggles to see why that is wrong. In his search for an answer, he decides to consult Momodi, and makes his way to the Quicksand.

* The chat with Momodi works wonders, and Nhagi'a comes to the realization that, at some point, his desire to prove himself to his sister had displaced his own motive for being an adventurer. Back outside the Quicksand, you turn to Nhagi'a to see what he intends to do next.

* Nhagi'a tells you that he now has an answer for Kipih, and when they speak, he wants to show her one of the letters he collected. To that end, he asks you to help him find the letter in the Gold Court, and together you go to rejoin the wandering minstrel.

* The wandering minstrel is happy for Nhagi'a to borrow the letter in question. The three of you then proceed to search for the missive, which is identifiable by the drawing of a blue chocobo that adorns it.

* A brief search yields what appears to be the letter you seek, and you take it over to Nhagi'a.

* Nhagi'a confirms that this is indeed the letter he wishes to show to Kipih, and he promptly heads over to the Weavers' Guild, where she had indicated that she had business. Wishing to know how events unfold, the wandering minstrel bids you accompany the young adventurer for his meeting with his sister.

* At the Weavers' Guild, you watch on as the siblings bare their hearts to one another. Nhagi'a declares that he will no longer obsess over doing everything alone, having remembered why he became an adventurer in the first place. Relieved, Kipih takes the opportunity to remind him of how, as a young boy, he had told her that he wanted to simply be a free-spirited adventurer who traveled the world and lent a helping hand to those in need. Saddened to see that boy lose his way, Kipih had spoken sternly, but it was never her intent to deny him his calling, and she wholeheartedly supports him now as he continues on his path. Thus does the tale come to a happy conclusion, and you bid the two a fond farewell as they return to walking their respective paths.

* You report back to the wandering minstrel, who expresses his gladness for the siblings. Inspired by these events, he conceives of a verse and proceeds to perform it. Even as the first chord resounds in your ear, you find yourself hurtling through unknown skies aboard an airship, where you meet with the mysterious Naoki Yoshida. The man thanks you for your enduring support, and shares his excitement for what yet lies ahead, before sending you back to reality. After you return to yourself on the streets of Ul'dah, the minstrel performs for you another song─one imbued with the hope that you will never forget whence you came, for therein lies the strength to forge on in the face of adversity.

Dialogue
Wandering Minstrel: It appears Kipih wants her brother to rethink what adventuring is to him. Had the question been posed to you, what answer you would arrive at, I wonder...

Kipih Jakkya: If truth be told, no matter what Nhagi wants to do, it is my intent to support him.
Kipih Jakkya: It's his life, after all, and no one else's. It isn't my place to interfere.
Kipih Jakkya: Be that as it may, if he is sabotaging his own aspirations with his obsession for my approval, I can't simply stand idly by and watch.
Kipih Jakkya: Loath though I am to impose, until my brother has found his answer, might I trouble you to keep an eye on him?

Wandering Minstrel: Please take it as a request from me as well. Ever has adventuring been dangerous, and it is more dangerous still for one who spurns help.
Wandering Minstrel: Like Kipih, I do not wish for Nhagi to continue on his current path. As a fellow adventurer, please help him find a better way.

Kipih Jakkya: Thank you.
Kipih Jakkya: Now then, on a related matter, I must pay a visit to the Weavers' Guild, but I will see you again anon. If you'll excuse me...

Wandering Minstrel: Nhagi set off this way, so you may find him at the Sapphire Avenue Exchange. We leave him in your capable hands, my friend.
Wandering Minstrel: Be it gratitude or encouragement or sympathy, each of these letters bears the wishes of one soul for another.
Wandering Minstrel: For Nhagi to work so hard to see them delivered, at heart, I do not believe he rejects connections with others. Nay, something drives him to believe and behave as he does.

Kipih Jakkya: I do not agree with Nhagi's belief that, if he is to be an adventurer worth his salt, he can't rely on others.
Kipih Jakkya: Lest we forget, adventurers help others through the work they accept. To refuse to accept help in turn not only defies logic─it is saddening.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: Oh, it's you, [Forename]. What is it?
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Is that so... I'm sorry. This is really something I should be doing alone. Still, it's nice to have someone to talk to.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Like my sister bade me, I'm pondering why I chose to become an adventurer in the first place.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Kipih has looked after me since I was no more than ten, after our parents passed away.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: She was already a reporter by then, and her work took her to various places. From her I heard tales about adventurers and came to admire them.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Upon learning of the full extent of the impending Calamity, she took us to a village in the mountains, where our aunt lived.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: “It's desperate times like these that people need stories of hope,” she used to say, and I believe she had wanted to remain in Gridania and continue her work. But she left─in order to keep me safe.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: I was a burden to her then. I don't want to be a burden to her again. For that, I need to show her that I don't need to depend on others. That I'm a capable adventurer who can handle anything by himself.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Ponder as I might, I can't understand what's wrong with that.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Well, when it doubt, I suppose I should do what adventurers do and gather information. It would be good, I think, to speak with people like my sister─people who aren't adventurers, but are familiar with them.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Hmmm, who in Ul'dah would fit that description...?

Q1: What will you say?

A1: How about the face of the Adventurers' Guild?
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Of course, who else but Miss Momodi!
Nhagi'a Jakkya: In her capacity as guild representative, she's bound to have some valuable insights. I'll seek her out at once!

A1: How about the local purveyor of information?
Nhagi'a Jakkya: You mean Wymond? While he's certainly knowledgeable, the kind of information he deals in isn't exactly what I need.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Instead, how about Miss Momodi, the face of the Adventurers' Guild?
Nhagi'a Jakkya: In her capacity as guild representative, she's bound to have some valuable insights. I'll seek her out at once!

A1: How about a business with extensive dealings with adventurers?
Nhagi'a Jakkya: You mean the House of Splendors, the place that offers quality gear in exchange for services?
Nhagi'a Jakkya: I had better not... Horror stories are rife of people who make the mistake of indebting themselves to the House, becoming forever indentured...
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Instead, how about Miss Momodi, the face of the Adventurers' Guild?
Nhagi'a Jakkya: In her capacity as guild representative, she's bound to have some valuable insights. I'll seek her out at once!

Nhagi'a Jakkya: I still remember when I first came here to sign up. I was a nervous wreck then, but now this place feels like a second home, and I come all the time for crumpets. They make them so springy, and serve them drowning in butter and honey...
Nhagi'a Jakkya: ...S-Sorry, now isn't the time for that. Come, let's have a chat with Miss Momodi.

Momodi: Well now, if it isn't [Forename] and Nhagi. To what do I owe the pleasure of both your companies today?

Momodi: Well now, if it isn't young Nhagi...and in the company of another adventurer besides. Strange things do happen. What can I do for you today?

Nhagi'a Jakkya: I was hoping to get your advice on a certain matter...

Momodi: The misconception you've developed about being an adventurer... That's an interestin' one, I have to admit.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: Try as I might to figure it out, I keep going around in circles. I thought you might be able to offer some insights.

Momodi: Hmmm...
Momodi: This is just a gut feeling...but I reckon I understand what your sister's tryin' to say.
Momodi: Tell me, Nhagi. Suppose you fail to get your sister's approval, would you simply give up being an adventurer? Would it all become meaningless?
Momodi: From this here counter, I've indeed seen off many an adventurer. Each and every one unique, with dreams and destinations all their own.
Momodi: But in spite of their differences, they all share something in common─a reason for first embarking upon their journey.
Momodi: [Forename]─would you mind tellin' us why you chose the adventurin' life?

Q2: What will you say?

A2: I wanted to see the world.
Momodi: Hehe, how very like you. Keep that reason close to your heart now, you hear?

A2: It seemed exciting.
Momodi: Hehe, I see.

A2: A friend recommended it to me.
Momodi: Is that right? Hehe, how sweet. Keep that friend close now, you hear?

A2: It's a secret.
Momodi: If you're disinclined to share, then I won't pry. To look at you, though, it's plain you've got a proper reason. Keep it close to your heart now, you hear?

Momodi: And you, Nhagi? What inspired you to become an adventurer?

Nhagi'a Jakkya: It's simple, really. I heard about adventurers from my sister, and became infatuated with the lives they led.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Like them, I wanted to be able to see the world while helping those in need.

Momodi: Then isn't that enough? Your sister's approval or no, you have a reason all your own.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: By the Twelve, I see now... At some point, my desire to prove myself to Kipih had displaced my own motive for being an adventurer...
Nhagi'a Jakkya: That's the misconception Kipih wanted me to recognize... What a fool I've been...

Momodi: Wanting someone's approval isn't wrong in and of itself, mind. But it's got nothin' to do with why you're an adventurer.
Momodi: It shouldn't force you to do things you wouldn't otherwise do, like tryin' to handle everything alone.
Momodi: Well, that's enough from me for today. I've said my piece─what you do now is up to you, Nhagi.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: Thank you for helping me realize, Miss Momodi.

Momodi: Think nothing of it. It's my job to watch over you all. Nothing makes me happier than to see you happy, doing what you do.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: Thank you too, [Forename], for accompanying me. I think I know what to say to Kipih now.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: And loath though I am to trouble you again, there's something else I'd like your help with.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: You see, of the letters we collected in Limsa Lominsa, one was from an explorer who was seeking an escort for an expedition.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: By now, that letter should be on display at the Gold Court. I want to show it to my sister, and I'd be grateful if you could help me find it. Come, let's rejoin the minstrel.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Now where is that letter...?

Wandering Minstrel: Ah, welcome back. Dare I hope you were able to find the answer?

Nhagi'a Jakkya: Yes, I'm happy to say. Miss Momodi helped me to come to a realization. And when I go to speak with my sister...

Wandering Minstrel: I see, I see. By all means, feel free to borrow the letter. Does it have any distinguishing characteristics?

Nhagi'a Jakkya: As I recall, there was a large drawing of a blue chocobo on it...

Wandering Minstrel: Very well. Let us all search together, the more swiftly to find it.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: “Dear kindly Miqo'te adventurer,
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Thank you for helping me to find my mother. I was scared at first, but you made me feel brave.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: “I had lots of fun at the Gold Saucer, and it was even more fun because of you. I hope to see you again. Please take care.”
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Why, it's the lost child from the Gold Saucer! The staff were tied up, so I helped to track down the mother. Hehe, what a fine feeling this is.

Wandering Minstrel: A great many of these letters bear words of thanks for adventurers─a testament to the good that you and yours do out in the world.

(-Letter with a Blue Chocobo Drawing-): Dear adventurer,
(-Letter with a Blue Chocobo Drawing-): How fares your journey? Mine continues, and I wake up to the sound of birdsong and lie down to sleep beneath the moonlight as I seek unblazed trails.
(-Letter with a Blue Chocobo Drawing-): Long ago, when an adventurer aided me, I was made to realize how alike we are. Deep down, we are simply travelers who thrill to make new discoveries. Thus do I write this letter now, in hopes of recruiting such like-minded souls to join me on an expedition.
(-Letter with a Blue Chocobo Drawing-): If you at all share in my desire to make the uncharted charted, then I invite you to seek me out at the Drowning Wench in Limsa Lominsa. Eagerly do I await your coming.

System: This letter recruiting adventurers bears a drawing of a blue chocobo. It must be the missive Nhagi is looking for.

(-Letter with a Chocobo Carriage Drawing-): Dear not-so-new adventurer,
(-Letter with a Chocobo Carriage Drawing-): As a traveling merchant, I've had my fair share of happy encounters, but sharing a carriage with you stands out above them all.
(-Letter with a Chocobo Carriage Drawing-): For you see, I went on to sell veritable crate-loads of the ring I gave you, and turned enough of a profit to buy my own carriage. You shared with me your adventurer's luck, and I count my blessings every day.
(-Letter with a Chocobo Carriage Drawing-): My only regret is that I neglected to ask you your name, so I don't know your doings. If my instincts are on the mark, though, you've surely made a name for yourself. Wherever you are now, my friend, I pray for your continued safety and success.
(-Letter with a Chocobo Carriage Drawing-): No matter where I go, I often hear tell of your exploits, and it makes me inordinately proud to have met you. Till we meet again, my friend, I pray for your continued safety and success.

System: While the contents ring a bell, this letter wasn't written by an explorer, nor does it bear a drawing of a blue chocobo. It isn't the missive Nhagi is looking for.

(-Letter with a Shield Drawing-): As someone charged with the city's peace, I cannot overstate how much of a boon adventurers are to our efforts. Some folk had expressed concern that an increase in drifters would see a corresponding rise in crimes, but on the contrary, they are steadily declining.
(-Letter with a Shield Drawing-): Soldiers like ourselves are somewhat limited in the scope of our duties, and we are not always available to lend our citizens what assistance they need. Thus would I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to adventurers, who step up to fill the void.

(-Letter with a Quill Drawing-): Esteemed adventurer,
(-Letter with a Quill Drawing-): Should you chance to read this letter, I pray it finds you well. Much time has passed since you helped us to rebuild in the wake of that terrible disaster, but we still remember you most fondly.
(-Letter with a Quill Drawing-): Our lives continue to be hard, and every day brings new challenges. Nonetheless, we have regained a semblance of what we once had, and smiles are beginning to return to faces.
(-Letter with a Quill Drawing-): The morrow will be brighter than today─this we dare to believe now thanks to you. And should you yourself face hardship, I pray that you believe the same.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: No luck over here so far... How about you?
Nhagi'a Jakkya: A blue chocobo! Yes, this is the one!
Nhagi'a Jakkya: All that's left, then, is to talk to Kipih. Do you know where she is?

Wandering Minstrel: She went to the Weavers' Guild, saying that she had business there.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: Hm, perhaps she's buying clothes...
Nhagi'a Jakkya: At any rate, I'll look for her there. Thank you!

Wandering Minstrel: For this, too, might I trouble you to accompany Nhagi? Afterwards, I ask that you tell me how events unfold. I shall await you at the Ruby Road Exchange.
Wandering Minstrel: If you are willing, please accompany Nhagi when he speaks with his sister. I am most eager to know what lies ahead for our young adventurer.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: You're here too, [Forename]? I must confess, I'm feeling rather nervous, so I appreciate your presence.

Kipih Jakkya: Oh dear, you came to find me? My apologies for taking so long.
Kipih Jakkya: So, Nhagi. Were you able to find the answer?

Nhagi'a Jakkya: Aye. To begin with, I want you to look at this.

Kipih Jakkya: An explorer is assembling an escort for an expedition? Certainly sounds exciting.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: In wanting your approval, I was determined not to rely on others. But a part of me dearly wanted to be part of the expedition. To go where I dare not set foot alone. So I've decided that I will answer the invitation.

Kipih Jakkya: Then...this means you've given up on trying to do everything alone?

Nhagi'a Jakkya: I had wanted to prove to you that I'm capable─that I'm no longer a burden. And in my obsession, I lost sight of why I became an adventurer in the first place.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: To see what lies beyond the horizon and lend a helping hand to those I meet... That's what drives me, and I was able to remember this thanks to Miss Momodi and [Forename].
Nhagi'a Jakkya: And whether or not you approve, I want to continue adventuring for my own reasons. Is...is that all right with you?

Kipih Jakkya: Didn't you just say you didn't need my approval? But to be clear, I never actually intended to stop you.
Kipih Jakkya: Do you remember what you once told me, Nhagi? Shortly before the Calamity struck.

(-Young Nhagi-): Did you interview adventurers again today? What were they like? What kind of places have they been to?

Kipih Jakkya: Heh, you never get sick of hearing about adventurers, do you?

(-Young Nhagi-): Never, ever! When I grow up, I want to be an adventurer too!

Kipih Jakkya: Well, that's as fine an aspiration as any, but do you know what kind of adventurer you wish to become? A hero like in the tales, perhaps?

(-Young Nhagi-): Oh, no, Sister, not a hero. Adventurers are free spirits, and I want to be the freest spirit of all! Oh yes, I'll travel the world and meet lots of people, and when I visit home, you can interview me as much as you like!

Kipih Jakkya: For that boy to spurn help for want of my approval... I couldn't bear to see it, and in order to bring you to your senses, I may have spoken a little sternly.
Kipih Jakkya: As an adventurer, you'll experience no small amount of hardships, but you chose your path because you wanted to be free.
Kipih Jakkya: So don't let yourself be shackled by expectation, be it your own or that of others, and instead take things as they come.
Kipih Jakkya: So long as you are true to yourself and recognize your limits, you'll surely find a way forward. And remember: not even heroes can accomplish everything alone.
Kipih Jakkya: Relying on others doesn't make you a lesser adventurer. If anything, the freer we are, the more we need to look out for one another. And that, I believe, is the essence─and beauty─of adventuring. Wouldn't you agree, [Forename]?

Q3: What will you say?

A3: Wholeheartedly.

A3: A hero needs friends as much as anyone.

A3: An adventurer is never alone.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: Understood, Kipih. I won't ever forget this.

Kipih Jakkya: Knowing you, I expect you're raring to answer the explorer's petition in Limsa Lominsa. You'll be taking an airship, yes?
Kipih Jakkya: In which case, I shall give these garments to you now.
Kipih Jakkya: I had them made for you, thinking it was past time you had something better.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: For me!? Thank you so much, Sister!
Nhagi'a Jakkya: I must thank you too, [Forename]. You're the kind of adventurer I admire, and I'll keep on working hard to be like you.

Kipih Jakkya: I couldn't have asked for a better person to watch over my little brother. I appreciate everything you've done for him, and look forward to meeting you again, be it for a story or something else.
Kipih Jakkya: With that, we take our leave of you.
(-Kipih and Nhagi-): Till next time!

System: You see the siblings off, safe in the knowledge that all will be well. Time to rejoin the wandering minstrel and relay to him the tale's happy conclusion.

Wandering Minstrel: Welcome back, my friend. Judging by your expression, I take it all is well with Nhagi and Kipih.
Wandering Minstrel: I see. Pleased am I to hear that.
Wandering Minstrel: When we first set out on our journeys, 'tis usually for the simplest of reasons. Yet as we make our way, those reasons may become lost in a haze of motives, causing us to lose sight of what truly matters.
Wandering Minstrel: In such a time, if we can but remember what prompted us to take our first step, we will always find the strength to take the next. Nhagi shall be fine, I am certain of it. My thanks for keeping an eye on him.
Wandering Minstrel: These events have inspired a new verse in me. A verse about the dreams of those who seek new worlds, and the hopes of those who see them off...

(-???-): Greetings, Warrior of Light.
(-???-): This is a world that exists outside your reality. Could it be a dream? A flight of fancy conjured by your weary mind? Perhaps...or perhaps not.

Naoki Yoshida: 'Tis a pleasure to make your acquaintance. My name is Naoki Yoshida, and I have beckoned you here that I might express my gratitude.

Naoki Yoshida: 'Tis a pleasure to meet you again. As I have in the past, I have beckoned you here that I might express my gratitude.

Naoki Yoshida: Ten years have now passed since the world was reborn from its ashes. Since we set forth upon this journey.
Naoki Yoshida: Countless things have happened during that time, and I've had the pleasure of meeting many an adventurer along the way.
Naoki Yoshida: If truth be told, it hasn't always been easy. There are moments when I wonder why I must struggle so. Days when I'm tempted to cast it all aside.
Naoki Yoshida: But in spite of this, I always manage to carry on, and it is thanks to my wonderful comrades─and to you, our esteemed adventurers.
Naoki Yoshida: By now, I must have been regaled with tens of thousands of your tales. You usually share them with a smile, but even when it is with a frown, you tell me that you're still enjoying yourself.
Naoki Yoshida: 'Tis no exaggeration to say that I derive all of my driving force from you all. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you.
Naoki Yoshida: Ours is an unending journey, and nothing would make me happier than if we could keep walking it together.
Naoki Yoshida: As you make your way, we promise that we will ever be at your side, matching you step for step.
Naoki Yoshida: ...Now, the time has come for this vision to end; time for your eyes to open from this waking dream.
Naoki Yoshida: Much time has passed since the world was reborn from its ashes. Countless souls have made this place their home; every single one has left an indelible mark upon it.
Naoki Yoshida: Together we have built this world, and it is our sincerest hope that we shall continue to do so for many years to come.
Naoki Yoshida: So please be safe and well. May you ever walk in the Light of the Crystal.

Wandering Minstrel: I daresay Nhagi is aboard the airship by now. I pray that he and Kipih will find happiness upon their respective paths.
Wandering Minstrel: I hope you do so as well, my friend. If you would lend me an ear, I would dedicate these verses to your future.
Wandering Minstrel: By morning light the journey starts,
Wandering Minstrel: A trill of hope within our hearts.♪
Wandering Minstrel: On westerly wind, to river song,
Wandering Minstrel: Into the world, where we belong.♪
Wandering Minstrel: 'Bove fields of white an azure sky,
Wandering Minstrel: Sunset's storm a crimson fire.♪
Wandering Minstrel: Jewels aglitter on pitch-black veil,
Wandering Minstrel: A new day dawns, so goes the tale.♪
Wandering Minstrel: By eternal wind we carry on,
Wandering Minstrel: Boldly towards a golden morn.♪
Wandering Minstrel: With mem'ries as a guiding star,
Wandering Minstrel: Shining our steps both near and far.♪
Wandering Minstrel: Where you will go, whom you will meet, what you will see... There is no telling what the future holds for anyone.
Wandering Minstrel: Yet come what may, I bid you never forget this: the bonds you forge, the memories you make, and the footprints you leave behind─they shall one day spur you forward.
Wandering Minstrel: So pray continue walking your own path. Wherever your journey leads, I shall be praying for your happiness.

System: You now have access to the letter forest at the Gold Court. Speak with the tender stationed there to read the letters.
System: Additionally, you have also unlocked the Kupo Kupo Adventure mini-game on the Steps of Nald. Speak with Nonora at the Ruby Road Exchange to play.
System: This along with other mini-games may also be played by opening the toy chest in any inn room.

Journal
* Kipih Jakkya is looking a worried sister.
** ※This quest is available for a limited time only.

* Kipih Jakkya, a reporter for The Raven, was meant to meet her brother Nhagi'a during the Rising celebration, but the appointed hour has come and gone without him appearing. You are tasked with helping to find the lad, beginning by making inquiries at the Ruby Road Exchange.
** ※Please note that you will be unable to complete this quest after the seasonal event has ended. For details, please check the Lodestone.

* You learn from the locals that Nhagi'a is performing some manner of work for the wandering minstrel. Thus informed, you make your way to the Gold Court to find the musician.

* The wandering minstrel tells you that he is hosting an exhibit called the letter forest, which displays anonymously penned letters of gratitude and encouragement. In order to collect letters from outside of Ul'dah, the man has dispatched a chocobo carriage with Nhagi'a as an escort. However, the carriage is late to return, and the minstrel apologetically asks you to conduct a search. Having thus found a likely lead, you bear the news to Kipih, who awaits you near the Quicksand.

* You apprise Kipih of your findings. As the wandering minstrel suggested, you take yourselves to Black Brush Station to look for the carriage and Nhagi'a.

* No sooner do you arrive at Black Brush Station than you learn from a traveling merchant that bandits have fallen upon a carriage over by the Clutch. Wasting no time, you and Kipih rush to the scene and scare the highwaymen away before they can overwhelm Nhagi'a. Thus are the siblings reunited─although Nhagi'a's utterance that he needs to grow stronger to gain Kipih's approval appears to give her pause. Nhagi'a then continues on to Ul'dah with the carriage to complete his delivery, and you and Kipih likewise head back to join the wandering minstrel at the Gold Court.

* Reporting to the minstrel, Nhagi'a is critical of himself for needing your help to complete his task. His obsession with doing everything alone does not sit well with Kipih, who declares that she can't consent to his being an adventurer any longer. If he wishes to remain one, he must win her over─and it begins with pondering why he first embarked upon this path. Though saddened, Nhagi'a agrees to think on the matter and goes off, leaving you with the minstrel and a grim-faced Kipih.

* Despite how it may have appeared, Kipih assures you that she wants her brother to succeed and be happy. However, she is worried that unless he changes his ways, he is likely to meet an early demise, or at best know an arduous life.

Dialogue
Kipih Jakkya: Oh, if it isn't [Forename]! It's been too long, my friend.
Kipih Jakkya: Oh, if it isn't [Forename]! It's always a pleasure, my friend.
Kipih Jakkya: And how fortuitous that you should appear now, just when I'm in need of help again. Pray hear me out.
Kipih Jakkya: Hm? You're an adventurer, by the looks of you... Perhaps you could assist me.
Kipih Jakkya: I am Kipih Jakkya, reporter for Gridania's leading tabloid, The Raven, and I'm in need of help. Pray hear me out.
Kipih Jakkya: You see, my brother recently wrote saying that he wished to meet me in Ul'dah during the Rising celebration. However, the appointed hour has come and gone, but I've seen neither hide nor hair of him.
Kipih Jakkya: I've checked all the likely places in the city to no avail, and am beginning to worry. If it isn't too much trouble, may I ask you to help me find him?
Kipih Jakkya: I'm in your debt!
Kipih Jakkya: Now, my brother is a youth of sixteen by the name of Nhagi. He recently became an adventurer─something he had aspired to since he was little.
Kipih Jakkya: Being an adventurer yourself, perhaps you know of him if not crossed paths?

Q1: What will you say?

A1: I'm not familiar with the name, alas.
Kipih Jakkya: Aye, well, it would be too much of a coincidence, I suppose... At any rate, if he isn't in the city, chances are he went outside on some business.

A1: I've never heard of him.
Kipih Jakkya: Aye, well, it would be too much of a coincidence, I suppose... At any rate, if he isn't in the city, chances are he went outside on some business.

A1: We met at the previous Rising.
Kipih Jakkya: Not only did you meet him, you helped him on his way, you say? What an amazing coincidence!
Kipih Jakkya: That being said, it doesn't necessarily mean you would know where he is now... If he isn't in the city, though, chances are he went outside on some business.

Kipih Jakkya: To begin with, I propose we split up and make inquiries in case someone has seen him.
Kipih Jakkya: If you could focus on this area, I shall speak with those in the Quicksand.
Kipih Jakkya: Afterwards, let us reconvene by the entrance to the tavern.

Highlander Adventurer: Whenever the Rising comes around, I feel that little bit more thankful for what I've got. I'm goin' to do someone a good turn today, yes I will.

Midlander Rising Attendant: The Rising is in full swing in Ul'dah. Please join us in remembering those who left us in the Calamity, and looking forward to a brighter future together.

Kipih Jakkya: Excuse me, but I'm looking for an adventurer named Nhagi'a Jakkya...

Highlander Adventurer: Hm? Somethin' you need?
Highlander Adventurer: Oh, Nhagi. Aye, I know the sprightly lad. Couldn't say where he is now, but last I saw him, he mentioned takin' on some delivery work.
Highlander Adventurer: He's a curious one, he is. Gets along with everyone well enough, but doesn't seem to like workin' in a team. What with talk of bandits prowlin' the road of late, I can't help but worry.
Highlander Adventurer: As I said, I couldn't say where Nhagi is now, but he mentioned takin' on some delivery work. Might be as that's what he's out doin'.

Bran: Well, slap me silly with a harbor herring! If it isn't the adventurer who gave this gaz a story for the ages by bringin' that letter in a bottle way back when.
Bran: So, what can Bran do for you this fine morn/day/evening?
Bran: Something I can do for you, adventurer? If you've business with Bran, best state it quickly. This gaz has leads to follow and incidents to investigate for the Harbor Herald.
Bran: I see... With apologies, I haven't seen this Nhagi. As a matter of fact, I've been rather busy workin' on my upcomin' piece on the Rising.
Bran: Why, just earlier I was interviewin' the ever-enigmatic wandering minstrel, who's got another unusual venture in the offin'. The letter forest, he calls it.
Bran: If that piques your interest, I recommend you go and see the man. He's at the Gold Court, over on the Steps of Thal.
Bran: If you're interested in the letter forest, I recommend you go and see the wandering minstrel. He's at the Gold Court, over on the Steps of Thal.

Midlander Rising Attendant: Greetings, adventurer. How may I assist you?
Midlander Rising Attendant: Oh, Nhagi. I understand he is doing some work for the wandering minstrel.
Midlander Rising Attendant: I daresay his client can point you in the right direction...if you can track the man down, that is. I'm afraid I don't know his whereabouts at present.
Midlander Rising Attendant: I understand Nhagi is doing some work for the wandering minstrel. If you can track the man down, I daresay he can point you in the right direction.

System: It appears Nhagi is carrying out some work for the wandering minstrel. If you talk to the man at the Gold Court, you should be able to learn more.

Wandering Minstrel: Ah, my dear friend, what a pleasant surprise this is! I trust you have been keeping well. Now then, how might this minstrel be of service?
Wandering Minstrel: So Nhagi's sister wishes to find him... Indeed, I have entrusted him with a task, and have an inkling as to where he might be.
Wandering Minstrel: Greetings, friend. By your dauntless bearing, I assume you are an adventurer. How might this minstrel be of service?
Wandering Minstrel: So Nhagi's sister wishes to find him... Indeed, I have entrusted him with a task, and have an inkling as to where he might be.
Wandering Minstrel: As you may have heard, on the occasion of this Rising celebration, I am hosting an exhibit called the letter forest.
Wandering Minstrel: All are invited to anonymously submit letters to this forest and express their gratitude and encouragement for another, and all may peruse the letters at their leisure.
Wandering Minstrel: Now, in order to collect missives from outside of Ul'dah, I have dispatched a chocobo carriage. Nhagi is escorting said carriage.
Wandering Minstrel: When he contacted me on linkpearl a while ago, he said that they had emerged from the Twelveswood on their way back to Ul'dah. Given the hour, they should have already arrived...
Wandering Minstrel: I know not what is causing the delay, but might I trouble you to look for them? I would go myself, except I am needed here at present.
Wandering Minstrel: I'm truly grateful. In case it helps, the carriage was meant to pass through Black Brush Station, so perhaps you could take your search to that area. I pray that nothing has befallen them.
Wandering Minstrel: As I mentioned, the carriage was meant to pass through Black Brush Station. That may be a sound place for you to begin your search.

Kipih Jakkya: There you are. Were you able to learn aught of Nhagi?
Kipih Jakkya: Escorting a carriage for the minstrel, so that is the way of it...
Kipih Jakkya: As suggested, let us take ourselves to Black Brush Station and try searching in the vicinity!

Midlander Merchant: <huff> Need to get help...

Kipih Jakkya: [Forename]! No sooner did I arrive than this man came running, out of breath...

(-Midlander Merchant-): You're an adventurer? Thank the Twelve!
(-Midlander Merchant-): It's the bandits from the Quiveron Manse─they've fallen on a chocobo carriage over by the Clutch!
Midlander Merchant: The carriage only had one guard, and he was sorely outnumbered. Please, you must help him!

Kipih Jakkya: That has to be Nhagi... With me, [Forename]!

Nhagi'a Jakkya: Damn it... There's no end to them...

Quiveron Retainer: We have you now, you stubborn little shite!

Kipih Jakkya: Enough! Leave my little brother alone, or Twelve as my witness, you'll receive such a thrashing as you've never known!
Kipih Jakkya: ...From this fearsome adventurer here, that is!

Quiveron Retainer: Th-That's no ordinary man/woman! Retreat!

Kipih Jakkya: Are you all right, Nhagi!?

Nhagi'a Jakkya: Sister...and [Forename] too!? That you should be the one to come to my aid... Thank you.

Q2: What will you say?

A2: How have you been, Nhagi?
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Y-You remembered! I've been well! More than well!

A2: Um...
Nhagi'a Jakkya: So you don't remember me... You can hardly be expected to, I suppose...

Nhagi'a Jakkya: I'm sorry I didn't come when I said I would, Sister... Rest assured I'm not too badly hurt.

Kipih Jakkya: That's a relief. I'll take a proper look at your wounds back in the city.
Kipih Jakkya: I must say, I was quite surprised to learn that you had met [Forename]...

Nhagi'a Jakkya: He/She helped me when I first arrived in Ul'dah. From registering as an adventurer to completing my first task, he/she kindly showed me the ropes.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Now, I had suspected that you were a great adventurer, but to send your foes running without even drawing your weapon... That's just incredible!
Nhagi'a Jakkya: I'm sorry I didn't come when I said I would, Sister... Rest assured I'm not too badly hurt.

Kipih Jakkya: That's a relief. I'll take a proper look at your wounds back in the city.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: It seems you're an adventurer too. Thank you for your help. What's your name, if I may ask?
Nhagi'a Jakkya: [Forename] [Surname]... I'll remember it. To send your foes running without even drawing your weapon, you're clearly a great adventurer!
Nhagi'a Jakkya: I still have a long way to go, embarrassing myself like I did... If I want Sister's approval, I need to grow stronger and be able to fight on my own...

Kipih Jakkya: My approval...?

Nhagi'a Jakkya: Ah, but first things first: Brendt/Bremondt/Brennan and I have a delivery to make for the Rising.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: If you'll excuse us, we will hurry back to Ul'dah.

Kipih Jakkya: Let us head back as well. I had a mind to pay the minstrel a visit in any case.
Kipih Jakkya: Thanks to you, Nhagi is safe.
Kipih Jakkya: Still, what he said about making it on his own weighs on my mind...

Nhagi'a Jakkya: Sister was none too gentle dressing my wounds... Perhaps she's annoyed I didn't show up as promised.

Wandering Minstrel: Welcome back, my friends. Pleased am I to see that Nhagi is safe and well.
Wandering Minstrel: Rising attendants inform me they now have all the letters. With this, we may proceed with the letter forest as planned. Thank you, Nhagi.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: I'm so sorry I'm late. You see...
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Were it not for [Forename], there's no telling what might have become of the letters and Brendt/Bremondt/Brennan. In the end, I was utterly useless...

Wandering Minstrel: So that is how it happened...
Wandering Minstrel: As Nhagi's client, allow me to thank you as well for coming to his aid.
Wandering Minstrel: That being said, my boy, you were far from useless. Nay, you bravely defended the carriage until help arrived. There is no need to belittle yourself so.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: Well, [Forename] didn't need to rely on anyone. No, he/she drove off the bandits with nary more than a stern look. I couldn't hold a candle to him/her.
Nhagi'a Jakkya: Like him/her, I want to be able to deal with any problem without help. Otherwise I can't claim to be an adventurer worth his salt.

Kipih Jakkya: Without help...
Kipih Jakkya: Tell me, Nhagi. All this time, have you been working alone? Even for dangerous tasks?

Nhagi'a Jakkya: That's right. A worthy adventurer doesn't rely on others. If I'm to be the kind of adventurer you approve of, I must be able to handle anything by myself.

Kipih Jakkya: I see...
Kipih Jakkya: If that is what you believe, then I can't consent to you being an adventurer any longer. Return to our village and start over.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: What? But...you were so happy for me when I became an adventurer!
Nhagi'a Jakkya: I'm working so hard to succeed. To prove to you that I have what it takes. But now...

Kipih Jakkya: You've developed a grave misconception. Until you recognize what it is, I can't in good conscience approve of your calling.
Kipih Jakkya: If you can't accept this─if you wish to remain an adventurer─then you must win me over. And it begins with pondering why you first embarked upon this path.

Nhagi'a Jakkya: ...All right, Sister. I'll think on this.

Wandering Minstrel: It appears Kipih wants her brother to rethink what adventuring is to him. Had the question been posed to you, what answer would you arrive at, I wonder...

Kipih Jakkya: I'm sorry you had to see that, [Forename]...
Kipih Jakkya: Despite how it may have appeared, no one wants my brother to succeed more than I do. To succeed and be happy. After all, I know better than any how hard he works.
Kipih Jakkya: Unless he changes his ways, however, he is like to die somewhere out there. And even if he manages to stay alive, he would only know an arduous life. That's why I didn't go out of my way to be gentle when dressing his wounds.
Kipih Jakkya: If he could just focus on what actually matters... Instead, he obsesses about gaining my approval and compares himself to others... <sigh>
