Ixion (Mount) is a mount acquired by trading 12 Ixion Horn acquired from Ixion (FATE) (2 for Gold completion and 1 for Silver) to Eschina in Rhalgr's Reach (x13.8,y11.7). There is also a very small chance of the mount dropping directly from the FATE.

Description
Ask any Gyr Abanian youth, and she will tell you the story of Ixion, Rhalgr's magnificent steed─swift as a levinbolt and strong as thunderclap. However, the recent discovery of several ancient Mhachi texts suggests that the creature may simply be a stallion augmented by ancient technologies that have granted Ixion life eternal...and the ability to shoot lightning from its eyes.
He said what? “Horses are that strong”? - Red Uma Doshin

General Information
Mounts allow players to travel around Eorzea faster. After acquiring a mount, you can ride it by dragging the icon onto your action bar. Players can acquire their first mount, Company Chocobo, by playing through the main story and joining a Grand Company at around level 20. Players must also complete the quest "My Little Chocobo" given by an NPC located within their Grand Company Building. Other mounts can be acquired by completing different requirements. Heavensward, FFXIV's first expansion introduced Flying Mounts.

*All mounts have the same movement speed increase.

*Enemies can still attack you while you are mounted. They can potentially injure your mount, slowing its movement speed significantly.

__TOC__
Increase Mount Speed
As players progress, the speed of mounts on the ground will increase in two stages.

It should be noted, however, the speed of mounts will be limited in certain areas as follows:
*Enhancement I is limited in 4.0 Areas / Residential Districts / Idyllshire

The speed enhancement available for all areas can be confirmed via the Mount Speed window under Travel in the Main Menu.
Quests That Unlock Enhancement I
Completing the following Main Scenario Quests will unlock the first speed enhancement for one or more associated areas.
Flying Mounts
Flying mounts are introduced in Heavensward, revealed at the Fan Festival in London 2014. Flying Mounts allow the players to take to the sky and roam the areas of Heavensward freely. Many of the previously ground mounts, such as Company Chocobo, will be able to fly. To do this, you will need to complete the quest I Believe I Can Fly, located near the chocobo stables in Ishgard. Players can only fly in locations in Heavensward such as Ishgard and Coerthas Western Highlands. While flying, the flying mounts have 200% of the speed of a regular ground mount. While running on ground, the flying mounts will be the same speed as a ground mounts (100%).

*You can escape enemies on the ground by flying.

Unlock
Players can unlock flying mounts through the Main Scenario Quest Divine Intervention. Before flying in a zone, players need to attune with the Aether Currents in that zone. Players can check their attunement progress through the Aether Currents window under Travel in the main menu. Some Aether Currents are found in the zone while others are obtained by completing quests. Players are provided with an Aether Compass to aid them in their search.
*If you lose your Compass you can talk to Gibrillont at the Forgotten Knight, or Gaufrid at Rhalgr's Reach to get a new one.

Controls
After attuning to a zone, press the jump key while riding a flying mount to fly.

General Information
Machinist is a ranged DPS job introduced in 2014 Fan Fest in Tokyo. Machinist is the gun-wielding job released in Heavensward. Unlike 2.0 jobs, Machinist does not require a base class and starts from level 30. The job's main weapon is the Firearm. Machinist uses specialized mechanical equipment such as attachments to the firearm along with deploy-able turrets. Using deployable turrets, Machinist can perform a support style role in addition to the DPS role. The turrets can attack enemies, debuff enemies or buff allies

As a ranged dps, their most important stat is dexterity, which increases attack power.
Journal
*Stephanivien awaits your introduction with undisguised enthusiasm.

*Stephanivient once more welcomes you to the Skysteel Manufactory, and offers to introduce you to the wonders of machinistry. Speak with the enthusiastic inventor to indicate your readiness to undertake your first lesson.

*You inform Stephanivien of your desire to learn about firearms, much to the inventor's delight. It would appear, however, that the manufactory's master of marksmanship has resigned his post at the worst possible timing. Join Stephanivien at Camp Overlook in outer La Noscea, and aid him and Joye in their quest to win back the workshop's reluctant employee.

*You rendezvous with Stephanivien and Joye in outer La Noscea, and agree to assist them with their inquiries. Speak with the soldiers of Camp Overlook, and ask after the retired instructor.

*The inhabitants you speak with at Camp Overlook seem less than welcoming towards the man you seek. Return to Stephanivien, and share the information you have learned.

*You rejoin Stephanivien and Joye just outside the camp, and explain where the master of marksmanship might be found. Head towards the lift, and speak with Stephanivien once more.

*You arrive at the infirmary to find Stephanivien entreating the master of marksmanship—a Roegadyn by the name of Rostnsthal—to return to the manufactory. After a tense confrontation wherein Joye displays her uncanny skill with a firearm, Rostnsthal reluctantly agrees to test your potential with a trial lesson. Take up the weapon you received from Stephanivien, and convince the instructor of the seriousness of your intentions.
Gajasura uses his abilities all in a row, making it one of the most predictable A-Rank Hunts.

* First, Gajasura will cast Spin, a frontal cone that does moderate damage.
* Next, he will cast Buffet, an attack where he jumps to a nearby attacker and does severe damage.
* Lastly, he will then cast Hurl, throwing a large rock at a targeted AoE.
Sum as a whole is a largely easy A-rank fight. For the unaware, it can be deadly however.

Sum will cast Nightmarish Light periodically, creating a large AoE circle around it. As Nightmarish Light is a Gaze-style attack, turning around and not facing towards Sum will negate this mechanic.

Soon after casting Nightmarish Light, Sum will cast Garish Light, a smaller AoE circle around it. Running out of Garish Light is not difficult; however if you are hit by the spell you are given the Minimum effect which turns your character small - decreasing damage dealt, increasing damage taken, and slowing your movement speed.

Sum's final attack is Bog Bomb, a standard targeted AoE attack. While under the effect of Minimum, this attack can one-shot.
Sum's final attack is Bog Bomb, a standard targeted AoE attack. While under the effect of Minimum, this attack can one-shot.

Aspect
In Final Fantasy XIV, Aspect refers to the elemental attunement of a crystal or object.

Lore
Eorzea, and the rest of the world known as Hydaelyn, is blessed with a form of magical life-essence known as Aether. Whenever a creature or being dies, its Aether slips from its body and into the next life. Excess amounts of Aether left behind can coagulate into different things : mist, pools, or even crystals. These coagulations attune themselves to specific elemental frequencies. Aether and Aether-created objects can also become corrupted, sapping elemental energies instead of providing them.

Crystals and Usage
When Crafting, Elemental-Aspected crystals are often used as catalysts. These crystals are obtained from enemies in the world and from Gathering, and come in various size - Shards being the smallest, and Clusters being the largest.

"According to the records of the Resistance, a clan of goblins once came barreling in from the west, and smashed through an imperial checkpoint.
The Empires forces soon gave chase, and cornered the beastmen on the shores of Loch Seld. The goblins were slain to a man, but not before one of them hurled a strange device into the loch's waters.
The surface of the loch was seen to bulge upwards, forming into a watery giant which proceeded to decimate the Garlean soldiers before suddenly draining away once more. Honestly, folks should be more careful with what they choose to throw away..."
