disambig
Moogle Treasure Trove Events are special events that usually precede a major patch or expansion release, starting with patch 5.0 (Shadowbringers).

In these events, players can collect Irregular Tomestones by completing certain dungeons, trials, raids, and PvP duties. The available duties will change with each event. These duties range from higher-level raids to A Realm Reborn leveling dungeons, allowing lower level characters to participate. To receive rewards, players must complete the duties with Level Sync enabled. As of 2024, Ocean Fishing and GATEs also grant the event tomestones, as another option accessible to low-level characters.

These tomestones can then be exchanged with an Itinerant Moogle located in the three starting cities (Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, or Ul'dah) for various rewards. Most events feature one limited-time item: typically a lighthearted accessory, such as the Namazu Earring. The events also include a variety of rare, hard-to-get, or no-longer-attainable items, such as mounts from extreme trials or the Falcon (Mount) — or simply items that the developers wish to spotlight, such as contest-winning outfits. This makes these events useful as a catch-up mechanism for collectors who may have missed the boat on older items.

Because these events typically last a month, some players will try to predict the release date of a major patch based on the event start date, once a time frame for the patch has been announced (e.g., "early January 2023"). The duration of these events varies, with the most common interval being 29 days between the start of the event and patch day. Moogle Treasure Trove Events prior to an expansion launch will run longer with the most common interval being approximately 40 days.
Insatiable Vessel: Zeromus
Note that players can fall off the arena to their death but can be resurrected after a moderate delay. Players should assign light parties (1 tank, 1 healer, 2 DPS) and corner partners (DPS + support) with tanks/melees going north.

Note that meteors can be skipped with enough damage (ie unsynced, 5 DPS, significant echo bonuses) - Zeromus seems to transition out of phase with Big Crunch (then into Rend the Rift) at bit over 20% HP.

Phase 1
*Abyssal Nox: Reduces everyone to 1 HP and inflicts doom Doom that can be removed by healing to full.
**Meanwhile, multiple rays of light will travel to random cardinals and intercardinals, indicating the locations of large circular AoEs. Dodge in a location without a light ray. Two sets of light rays and AoEs will occur sequentially.
**North will always be safe followed by west, or vice versa.
*Sable Thread: Multi-hit line stack AoE that deals heavy damage, requiring mitigation. The two tanks should stack in front and use personal mitigation as it deals more damage to the two front players.
*Dark Matter: Three-hit AoE tankbuster targeting both tanks. (In contrast to many extreme trials, this does not target the top two enmity players.)
*Visceral Whirl: The boss will place its claws over the arena, telegraphing sets of perpendicular line AoEs, leaving two triangular safe spots.
**After the initial AoEs go off, three X-shaped marks will appear in semi-random locations in the original AoEs. These will each do a cross AoE with from the points of the X, leaving two triangular safe spots in different locations. The AoEs will only have a brief orange indicator.
*Flare: Spawns two tower with a stack marker, one northwest and one southeast. Tanks/melee DPS should take the northwest tower, and healers/ranged DPS should take the southeast tower.
**Each tower will leave behind a large fireball that will damage anyone lingering in it emit several fiery lines, indicating line AoEs. The party should dodge in an area not overlapped by a line.
*Void Bio: Spawns a row of poison orbs (Toxic Bubbles) at the north of the arena, which will gradually begin moving south at various speeds, leaving gaps to dodge through. Anyone hit by these will be inflicted with Pollen and take massive damage-over-time, which will likely kill them.
*The boss casts another Visceral Whirl when the poison orbs are still moving, so the party needs to dodge these while going to the triangular safe spots.
*Big Bang: Spawns spread AoE telegraphs on each player and other circular AoE telegraphs at semi-random locations during the cast. The spread AoEs inflict magic vulnerability up Magic Vulnerability Up, making overlap lethal. The attack itself deals high raidwide damage that should be mitigated and transitions the arena. Inflicts several debuffs:
** Big Bounce (all players): Deals damage-over-time
** Acceleration Bomb (all players): When the debuff timer expires, the player must remain still and not attack, or they will take damage and be knocked up in the air. There will be an overhead timer when the debuff is about to expire.
** Divisive Dark (all players): Telegraphed spread AoE that inflicts magic vulnerability up Magic Vulnerability Up.
** Beckoning Dark (1 non-tank player): Stack AoE that inflicts magic vulnerability up Magic Vulnerability Up.
** Forked Lightning (2 DPS): Spread AoE that resolves at the same time as Beckoning Dark and inflicts magic vulnerability up Magic Vulnerability Up.
** HP Penalty (all players): Reduces everyone's maximum HP by around 25%.
*The above debuffs can be ignored for the next mechanic, although Big Bounce will last for several seconds and require healing.
*Void Meteor: Spawns numerous proximity markers. Stack middle to mitigate. Each proximity AoE will leave behind a meteor. There will be numerous meteors scattered at the front half of the room, and one meteor located at the south wall.
*Meteor Impact: Two meteor markers will spawn next to the south meteor.
**One of the markers will tether all the tanks and healers, then the other one will then tether all DPS (or vice versa).
**These tethers will also have a blue AoE telegraph surrounding them.
**Tethered players must stretch their tether to reduce the proximity damage while ensuring that their AoE does not overlap any existing meteors, as indicated by the telegraph turning red, or the meteor will explode and instantly wipe the party.
**Failing to stretch the tether so it is no longer spiky will inflict lethal damage, which will bypass tank invulnerabilities.
**Once the first group's tethers resolve, those players will be temporarily bound and be hit with an attack that inflicts blunt resistance down Blunt Resistance Down and spawns a meteor where they were standing, giving less room for the second group to place their meteors. The first group of players should therefore place their meteors as far north as possible.
**If two players drop their meteors too close to each other (even if their AoEs are still blue), their meteors will overlap and explode.
**To prevent confusion, it is recommended to have rough assigned positions (e.g. ranged - melee - melee - ranged from west to east) although it is not possible to assign fixed positions due to the semi-random arrangement of meteors.
**If you cannot stretch your tether in time, it is recommended to sacrifice yourself instead of overlapping a meteor and causing a wipe.
**Be careful not to overlap your tether with the meteor at the south of the room, which will always appear.
*After all meteors are placed, they will each emit a telegraphed point-blank AoE to be dodged.
*Bonds of Darkness: Each tank/healer is chained to one DPS, which must be broken by running away. The boss will cast Visceral Whirl again, creating two safe spots for each role to go to (e.g. DPS north and supports south). The Acceleration Bomb from Big Bang will also resolve here, so players should stop moving once they break their chains.
*After the follow-up cross AoEs from Visceral Whirl resolve, the Divisive Dark spread AoEs, which are telegraphed, will resolve.
*Finally, the two tanks will be targeted for Dark Matter, while the player with Beckoning Dark will receive a stack marker. All non-tanks should stack, excluding the two players with Forked Lightning, who must be isolated.
*Black Hole:
**One player will receive a blue overhead marker, indicating they will drop an expanding black hole AoE at their location when the marker disappears. Anyone hit by the black hole will be sucked in and instantly killed.
**Meanwhile, Zeromus will cast Fractured Eventide, an untelegraphed line AoE that originates from the direction it is facing and will sweep across most of the arena.
**The party should start by the top corner nearest to where the boss is facing, with the black hole player at the bottom corner.
**The black hole and laser AoEs will initiate at the same time. The black hole player should regroup with the party immediately after dropping their AoE.
*Big Crunch: Similar to Big Bang, but removes HP Penalty. No other debuffs will be applied except for Big Bounce, dealing damage-over-time. The arena will transition back to the start of the phase.
*Abyssal Nox and Sable Thread are used again.
*Sparking Flare or Branding Flare:
**Spawns two stack marker towers near the middle of the room, one west and one east. Players should soak these in their light parties.
**The flares will emit line AoEs that will always leave the four corners safe, so players should go to their assigned corner with their partner.
**If Sparking Flare was used, each player will be hit with an untelegraphed spread AoE, so the partners should spread. If Branding Flare was used, the partners should stack instead.
**Meanwhile, two players will be targeted by Nox, a chasing AoE. They should bait these to the far corners and then run around the edges of the arena, while the non-targeted players remain near the middle.
*The mechanics for Phase 1 repeat (excluding the mechanics between Big Bang and Big Crunch) until the boss reaches ~25% HP or enrages (see below).

Phase 2
*Rend the Rift: Raidwide damage and transitions the arena and background music.
*Void Thunder: Multiple sets of baited AoE telegraphs on players.
*Nostalgia: Seven hits of raidwide damage, the first four dealing physical damage, and the last three dealing magical damage. Mitigate and heal through.
*Flow of the Abyss: The boss tethers a fissure at the side of the room, which will emit a line AoE that covers around a third of the arena. Meanwhile, the boss will do one of three mechanics.
**Stack marker on random player (Umbral Rays)
**Orange spread markers on all players (Akh Rhai) that leave behind a persistent AoE for several seconds
**Two-player enumeration markers (Umbral Prism) on all tanks or all healers. Stack with assigned partners.
*Flow of the Abyss is used again but will be combined with Void Thunder AoEs to dodge and Chasmic Nails, sequential telegraphed conal AoEs, so dodge accordingly. Anyone who is hit by the nails will receive a damage-over-time debuff that can be cleansed with Esuna.
*These mechanics will repeat until the boss is defeated or it eventually enrages with Big Bang and wipes the party, so it must be defeated before then. (Because the phase transition is HP based while the enrage is time based, it is possible reach the hard enrage even before phase 2.)

Loot
Voidvessel Weapons

*Each player will receive 2 Voidvessel Totems per kill. Collect 10 tokens to exchange for a weapon or 99 for a Lynx of Abyssal Grief Flute at Nesvaaz in Radz-at-Han (X:10.6 Y:10.0).
Majestic and forgotten, its existence unrecorded in the annals of man, a palace rests atop my clouds in the farthest reaches of the Churning Mists. This skyborne splendor was once home to Ratatoskr, brood-sister to Hraesvelgr and Nidhogg, until the treachery of mortals ensured that its stones would never again ring under the she-wyrm's talons. The dragons named it "Sohr Khai," a grieving apology for their failure to avert her fate, and they watched with infinite sadness as Ratatoskr's empty roost was overrun by bird and beast.
__NOTOC__
Landmarks
landmarkThe Pike
A monumental stone sculpture carved in the likeness of Haldrath, the first Azure Dragoon. The stonemason Percelle devoted thirty of her later years chiseling the piece, and it has stood for more than one hundred and fifty years since. Even today, one cannot find a more stirring tribute to one of Ishgard's founding fathers.

landmarkBlack Iron Bridge
This testament to the skill of House Dzemael's artisans serves the main road stretching from the capital to the Dusk Vigil. Although built primarily of solid stone, the bridge was named for its suspended metal chains, wrought from black iron impervious to the blazing temperatures of a dragon's exhalation.

landmarkThe Ninth Vare
Some hundred years past, the Holy See decreed twelve watchtowers be built, and so inspired were the Ishgardian people by their majesty that many embarked on pilgrimages to each tower during the warmer moons. Wind, hellfire, and the pillaging hands of the zealous lowborn have since seen those spiritual citadels reduced to ruin, and now only the Ninth Vare continues its silent vigil.

landmarkCamp Riversmeet
Once a key military outpost for the Ishgardian forces, this strategic location where the waters of the Swiftrun and the Coerthas flow together is home to a lone aetheryte shard, which has stood abandoned in the years since the Calamity.

landmarkGorgagne Mills
Ser Gorgagne was a proud knight and bannerman of House Durendaire, until the fateful day when the heir of that house vanished from sight while under his care, never to be seen again. Devastated by the loss of the boy and his own failing, he put aside his blade and built this farm, where he quietly lived out the rest of his days.

landmarkHemlock
Once a bustling village and home to the woodcutters who plied their trade in the Western Highlands of Coerthas, this settlement–named for the large evergreens unique to the area–was abandoned when the chill came, and remains a ghost town to this day, save for the terrible dragons which prowl 'neath rotting caves.
__NOTOC__
Landmarks
settlementAmity
A thriving center for trade with the dwarves, Amity's importance evaporated under Lord Vauthry's restrictive policies. Its faded status has since made it the perfect hideaway for fugitives fleeing the cruel vagaries of Eulmore.

landmarkPit 8
The dwarves of Tomra built this secret tunnel for Amity's reclusive residents. Disguised as a mining camp, its extensive shafts allow one to bypass the Ladder (Landmark) completely when traveling between highlands and lowlands.

landmarkTop Rung
As the name implies, this counterpart facility to the Bottom Rung stands at the Ladder's apex. In its glory days, the complex was filled with trundling Talos, shifting and stacking boxes of cargo.

landmarkThe Ladder
This enormous mechanism facilitates travel between Kholusia's lowlands and highlands. Its gears once driven by the tireless Talos of Daedalus Stoneworks, the apparatus fell into disrepair after said company retired its operations in the region—a development that all but halted trade with the highland dwarves.
This facility oversaw the operation of the Ladder and served as a hub for the transport of trade goods. In earlier days, ore purchased from the highland dwarves would be packed here, ready for shipment to Eulmore, but Lord Vauthry's despotic rule saw the Bottom Rung fall into disuse.

Bearing the name of a famous shipwright, these shipyards were once a pillar of Eulmore's commercial industry. With the loss of the oceans to the Light, however, there is little demand for seafaring vessels, and the builders' descendants have thus turned their woodworking skills to crafting homes and furniture.

Now a training facility for soldiers, legend has it that this stage-like formation was once the playground of mermaids. Sailors would make blindly for the "lawns" on which these captivating creatures frolicked, only to drown as their ships were dashed upon the many rocks jutting up from the ocean floor.
In the early days of Voeburt's founding, a shepherd was scouring the woods in search of stray sheep. What she stumbled across instead was a long-forgotten church of the First Light, and a weeping statue of its radiant deity. The tales of pilgrims journeying from afar to marvel at her discovery are many and well documented, yet if one is to visit the ruins today, the miraculous sculpture in question is nowhere to be found.
landmarkFather Collard's Chambers
With the aid of his Nu Mou assistant, the eponymous monk cultivated mushrooms in this secluded cavern as part of his research into apothecary. The lawless ones coveted the cultivars for their potent effects, and so seized the chance afforded by the Flood to usurp control of the chambers and their fantastical fungi.
Unwilling to abandon his home even in the face of an eater invasion, the shepherd Anden spent his last days as a mortal man among his flock. When the pixies learned of his refusal to flee, they transformed him into a leafman that he might watch over his "sweet fluffies" for eternity.
History
Almost a century ago, the continent of the New World was spoken of as an old wives tale. In a bid to prove the existence of the land, a Roegadyn sailor by the name of Ketenramm the Blue set sail from the west coast of Eorzea with his crew. After sailing for almost two months, they finally made land in the New World. Upon its rediscovery, Ketenramm attempted to call the land "Ketenland", however the general populace of the Three Great Continents refer to it as the New World.

Ketenramm and his crew made land and set up camp. In the following days, they would explore the land, quickly coming across the sprawling nation of Mamook. The party was brought before the nation's Supreme Leader, whom they presented with many gifts from their homeland. The Supreme Leader was so impressed and enamored with these gifts that they rewarded the sailors with several gifts of their own, not the least of which being a massive statue crafted out of pure silver. The party was also given free reign to travel all over the land while they were there. This afforded Ketenramm and his retinue the opportunity to collect valuable data and info about the New World. They spent several months exploring, mapping the entire island and gathering various fauna and seeds, such as the fruits and vegetables that are native to the New World, such as Ogre Pumpkins, Ruby Tomatoes, Popotoes and more. Upon returning to Eorzea, the various plants, roots and vegetables came to be a regular part of the Eorzean diet.

Another group of note is the Whalaqee people, who live in a settlement near Lapis Canyon where a luminous blue stone appears in massive veins. The Whalaqee are practitioners of Blue Magic, the art of looking into the soul of a beast and learning how they control aether. The Whalaqee view the color blue as a holy color and use it in all aspects of life. The rock that they worshiped that glowed blue actually turned out to be Ceruleum, which drew the attention of entrepreneurs who came from Eorzea to mine the mineral. When the influx of merchants and traders brought a disease to the New World, the Whalqee began dying quickly from it. An Eorzean who came to study Blue Magic named Martyn felt responsible and returned to Eorzea to find a cure to save the Whalaqee people. After coming up with a cure, his colleague Whastrach, under the guise of wanting to help, took the cure personally to the Whalaqee, only to use it to barter for the right to mine the Ceruleum in Lapis Canyon, a sacred area for the tribe. His plans were stopped thanks in part to the Warrior of Light however, and he agreed to leave their sacred land alone, asking one of the Whalaqee to help him discover unclaimed land he could work with.

Given the technological limitations of the time, communications and trade lines were not possible to establish, so interaction with the New World was relatively sparse. More recently however, Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn opened trade routes and communication between the two nations now that quicker travel is more possible. Mamool Ja mercenaries have also made the trip across the Indigo Deep, looking to capitalize on the unrest caused by the Garlean Empire invading.

Lore
The final of Hydaelyn's three major landmasses lies far to the west of Eorzea, beyond the boundless ocean known as the Indigo Deep. Despite the dearth of ancient epics and historical tomes to support the land's existence, as recently as eighty years ago it was debated whether or not the place was naught more than mere literary exaggeration—that is until a Sea Wolf adventurer hailing from Limsa Lominsa named Ketenramm the Blue rediscovered the region upon sailing west for nigh two moons straight. Notwithstanding the sailor's repeated attempts to name the region Ketenland, the “New World” remains the term most commonly used today.

Not only did Ketenramm and his crew discover the landmass, but they also spent several moons exploring inland, eventually encountering the denizens of the sprawling nation of Mamool Ja. Ketenramm was even granted audience with the nation’s supreme leader, to whom he presented various gifts from his Eorzean home. These rare gifts impressed the leader so much, that he presented him with a massive idol forged from pure silver, as well as allowance to roam free about his nation during their stay. Ketenramm used this opportunity not only to map the land, but to gather myriad root vegetables and seeds to carry back to Limsa Lominsa. Many staples in modern-day Eorzean diet such as ogre pumpkins, ruby tomatoes, popotoes, and alligator pears are all transplants from the New World.

While distance prevents much modern-day interaction between the New World and Eorzea, recent years have seen an influx of Mamool Ja mercenaries making the trip from their homeland to make profit from the unrest in the east.
This ruined mansion was once home to a high-ranking elven noble—a man who had pledged fealty to the Shadowkeeper in the hopes of restoring his people's supremacy. In return for his allegiance, he and his entire family were transformed into lupine soldiers, and to this day do they wander the land as fell beasts.
Located in the center of Lakeland, this watchtower is named in honor of a soldier who saved countless lives when he warned of a flying swarm of sin eaters. The soldier himself was slain in battle, having chosen to remain at the tower and delay the eaters' pursuit.
Built during the elven rule of Lakeland, this prison held those accused of murder, insurgency, and similarly heinous misdeeds. Serves as the Pugilists' Guild headed by former Bloodsands competitor Hamon Holyfist. The Platinum Mirage is owned by Teledji Adeledji, a Syndicate member.

Pugilists' Guild Lore
In the Coliseum's early years, all fighters banded together, answering to the same lanistae, training in the same ludii. Even- tually, however, those who fought with their fists parted ways with those who took up the sword. From the start, this new group of pugilists was largely one of equals offering his fellow brawler support. All this changed with the inception of legendary fighter Cornelia as head of the association. So masterful were her feats on the bloodsands that men and women came from all corners of the realm to spar under her mindful watch. In time, the organization had devoted itself to training, and, fifty years ago, officially changed the sign above its doors to read "Pugilists' Guild." In addition to instructing new talent, it is also a hub for those who earn their keep with their fists.
It is said that male Viis sneak onto this isle before approaching Fanow in search of a seasonal mate, with a warning hail of arrows meeting any suitor unlucky enough to be spotted. The ability to remain undetected until the courtship of a chosen partner has begun is thus considered the mark of an accomplished hunter.

landmarkThe Isle of Bows
One of several earthen platforms suspended over the Ox'Dalan Gap, this island is oft visited by Fanow youths as part of their rite of passage. The rite demands they craft a bow of their own, and the sacred trees here provide the needed materials.

landmarkThe Isle of Sisters
A pair of Viis sisters would often come here to escape their chores in the village. Viis are, however, possessed of incredibly sharp hearing, and the siblings' muffled voices could still be heard from the other side of Fanow.
The empire of Ronka was a place of magic and enlightenment, of peace and prosperity. Sadly, it was not meant to last. Though naught but ruins remain, they remain heavily guarded nonetheless. The Qitana Ravel is perhaps the most sacred of these sites, home to the ancient wisdom of the past. With the advent of the Flood, however, you have reason to believe something more sinister now resides there as well.
Likened to the long, curved tail of a Mord, this tunnel is a repurposed mineshaft which provides a direct passage from Mord Souq to the central hills.

landmarkOur Ladies' Hands
Built high up to catch the wind whistling through the mountains, this windmill is put to steady use by the Mord to grind popoto-like desert tubers into flour. Its name is an expression of gratitude, the technology replacing what was once a laborious task carried out by hand.

landmarkOur Ladies' Feet
Another contraption built by the Mord, this windmill is used for crushing the wildly diverse ingredients mixed into the local brews. Similar to the Ladies' Hands, the technology replaces a process that once involved a great deal of jumping and stomping.

landmarkNuvy's Leavings
The history of this mine stretches back to the time of the Ronkan Empire. Ronso workers labored to carve out its winding shafts, but there was a limit to how deep they could dig with only pickaxes and persistence. The Nabaath Empire commissioned a project to reopen the excavation using Talos, but as with many endeavors of that age, the scheme fell by the wayside with the advent of the Flood.
Scavengers built this pulley-and-rope mechanism to facilitate the recovery of precious artifacts from the ruins of Nabaath Areng. As the city has since been picked clean of treasures, however, the winch's condition has deteriorated from disuse.
